While visiting the Opera Hotel Zürich in Zurich, this wood floor immediately caught my attention.

The intricate geometric pattern creates so much movement and character, while the natural variation in the wood keeps the design warm and inviting. It’s a great example of how flooring can be more than just a surface — it can become a defining part of the space.

As someone who works in the flooring industry, I’m always looking for details like this. Seeing how designers use material, pattern, and installation to shape the experience of a space is one of my favorite parts of the job.

Sometimes the most impressive design is right under your feet.
