Not all wear is created equal! 🔎

One of the joys of shopping vintage is finding pieces that have lived a little. But how do you know when those signs of age add character—and when they might be something to look at more closely?

❤️ CHARACTER: The Good Stuff!

A little worn paint, a beautiful patina on brass, gentle fading, or scratches from years of use can be part of what makes a vintage piece special.

These imperfections often tell a story, and sometimes they're exactly what collectors and vintage lovers appreciate.

🔎 CONDITION: What to Check

Before falling in love with a piece, take a closer look.

Cracks and chips: Are they cosmetic, or could they affect how you'll use the item?

Repairs: Has something been glued, replaced, or reinforced?

Missing pieces: Is anything important to its appearance or function missing?

Stability: Does the furniture wobble? Is the handle secure? Does everything fit together as it should?

Here's the important part: A piece doesn't have to be perfect to be worth bringing home.

A chipped crock might make a wonderful decorative display. A weathered wooden decoy could look beautiful on a mantel. An old metal container with rust may be perfect for displaying dried flowers.

It all depends on what you love, how you plan to use it, and whether the condition works for you.
