Back at it, Gus and Tank heard the words caramel banana cupcake and immediately volunteered for the taste-testing committee. Unfortunately for them, Caramel Banana Swirl is a candle—but it certainly smells yummy enough to eat! 🐾🧁

This delicious new scent from Veterans Light Candle Company blends sweet, buttery banana, smooth caramel, warm bakery notes, creamy vanilla icing, and a rich salted caramel drizzle. It smells like walking into your favorite neighborhood bakery. 🕯️

Hand-poured in Illinois using a premium coconut-soy wax blend. This veteran-owned business donates 20% of its profits to support veterans in need. 🇺🇸

⚓ Shop Vintage with Nauti Dog: Pick It Up!

One of the best ways to learn about a vintage piece is simple: Pick it up.

Vintage shopping isn't just about what catches your eye from across the room. Sometimes the little details tell you the most.

🖐️ Feel the weight. Heavy glass, substantial pottery, solid wood, and sturdy metal can feel very different from their modern counterparts.

👀 Look a little closer. Notice the grain of the wood, bubbles or variations in glass, hand-painted details, old hardware, tool marks, or the way a piece was put together.

🔄 Turn it around. The back, bottom, and inside can reveal just as much as the front—old labels, construction methods, wear patterns, signatures, and other clues to its past.

❤️ And pay attention to how it makes you feel. Sometimes you don't know exactly why you're drawn to something. Maybe it reminds you of Grandma's kitchen, summers at the cabin, or something you haven't seen since childhood.

That's part of the fun! Vintage shopping is meant to be explored. So, slow down, pick things up, and look closer. You might discover that the piece you almost walked past is the one you can't put back down.

⚓ Shop Vintage with Nauti Dog: Antique, Vintage, Gently Used, New... What’s the Difference?

Ever spot something you love and wonder, “Is this actually vintage?”

These words get tossed around a lot, but they don’t all mean the same thing.

🕰️ ANTIQUE: Generally, an item is considered antique when it’s 100 years old or older. These pieces have officially crossed the century mark!

✨ VINTAGE: There’s no single universally accepted age, but 20 years old or older is a commonly used guideline. Vintage pieces reflect the style, craftsmanship, or character of an earlier time—think Mid-Century Modern décor, 1970s glassware, or that very Y2K piece you can’t believe is old enough to be called vintage. 😉

🏡 GENTLY USED: Not everything secondhand is vintage—and that’s okay! Gently used pieces may be newer, but they’re still in good condition and ready for another home.

♻️ REPURPOSED: This is where creativity comes in. A repurposed piece has been given a new purpose or a new life—an old ladder becomes a blanket rack, a vintage crate becomes a shelf, or something forgotten gets reimagined in an entirely new way.
