It's devastating to see photos of the flooding in Avoyelles Parish. It reminds me so much of the water damage I worked to mitigate in historic properties in New Orleans after Katrina. I'm linking some excellent resources (specifically geared to historic properties, but helpful overall for dealing with water damage) because knowing what to do after the water recedes is the first step to recovery and rebuilding.
