It has been a few years since I have done any art. I'm planning to start again. But first I want to make a statement. While family lore has it that we are descended from an indigenous grandmother, I have not uncovered proof of that. So while my heart follows the good way I do not want to detract from my tribal member brothers and sisters. If you are searching for real indigenous made products, I defer you to other artists. If you are looking to obtain quality feathers for crafting, I have that. I plan to create art in the future that is not tribal but is still woodsy, earthy, using natural products. If you'd like to commission something, please private message me. Blessings.

It's been quite a few years but I hope to resume my art this winter. May you live your dreams in 2020.

Hello everyone, It's the holiday season again and time for me to begin creating again during the season that I'm not gardening and farming! These pictures are examples of items I created last winter. Some are still available. Will add pics as new items created. I am willing to take special orders.

Legend of the Dream Catcher

The History of Native American Tribes. Dream Catcher Dreams have always had many meaning to Native Americans.

One of the old traditions was to hang a dream catcher in their homes. They believe that the night air is filled with dreams both good and bad. The dream catcher, when hung, moves freely in the air and catches the dreams as they float by. The good dreams know the way and slip through the center hole and slide down off the soft feather so gently the sleeper below sometimes hardly knows he is dreaming. The bad dreams, not knowing the way, get entangled in the webbing and perish with the first light of the new day.

It was traditional to put a feather in the center of the dream catcher; it means breath, or air. It is essential for life. A baby watching the air playing with the feather on her cradleboard was entertained while also being given a lesson on the importance of good air. (From the website www.american-native-art.com/ )
