Birthday week for my strong-willed Aries children, Catherine, 18, and Thomas, 21. Somehow, I now have two children who can vote and confidently inform me of all their “new privileges” that come with it.

All jokes aside, you have been the greatest gifts of my life. We’ve walked through our share of hard seasons, but what matters most is your grace to adapt, the strength to endure, and the courage to meet life as it comes.

You are brilliant, kind, and deeply generous in how you move through the world. Strong-willed, yes, but guided by something far more important, heart.

Born on Easter, named for saints, Catherine Frances got two because I wasn’t taking chances with that one, and still, you both turned out better than I deserved. I love you both to the moon and back but you both already know that. 🤍

(And congratulations, my darling Thomas and Catherine, you somehow, unknowingly, managed to pick your nose in every Christmas card photo sesh for an entire decade. (yes, I threw one of those gems in…It’s truly a remarkable level of consistency for both of you). 🙃
