To all of our customers,
Many of you have been reading and hearing the same news we have — the devastating flooding that's hit communities across Nepal this past week. As many of you know, Casual Cat carry's many Fair Trade products in the store from that region.
We wanted to share an update. Fortunately, all of the artisans and staff from the fair trade groups we work with are safe. One extended family member is currently missing, and while that's difficult news, we remain hopeful that as communication improves in the coming days, they'll be found safe. The communities in these mountains already face hard conditions day to day. With this flooding, Nepal is now dealing with loss and injury, and also significant longer-term challenges — damaged sanitation systems, destroyed roads, bridges, and power infrastructure, ruined fields, and a long road of rebuilding ahead. We will continue to keep all our Fair Trade artisan's and their families in our thoughts and prayers.
