There are people who stand in the spotlight, and there are people who make sure the spotlight can shine at all.
Today, I want to recognize my best friend, Louise.
The moment we secured a location for Silas’ Haunt for Hope, Louise hit the ground running. She coordinated with vendors, organized applications, helped secure donations, mapped out the event layout, helped cover expenses like the porta potty and snacks, and handled countless details that most people will never even know about.
For weeks leading up to the event, she poured in hours of work. On event day, she was there making sure everything ran smoothly and was able to run her booth. After the event, she was still there helping tear everything down. And even now, she continues helping run Silas’ social media page.
What makes Louise truly special isn’t just everything she does—it’s how she does it.
Never a complaint.
Never asking for recognition.
Never seeking the spotlight.
Never needing a pat on the back.
She simply shows up, works hard, and gives from her heart.
Silas’ Haunt for Hope would not have been what it was without her dedication, generosity, and love. I am endlessly grateful for every hour, every sacrifice, every late-night message, every problem solved, and every act of kindness she poured into this event.
Louise, thank you for being the kind of friend everyone wishes they had. Thank you for believing in this mission. Thank you for helping us honor Silas in such a beautiful way.
I love you, my friend, and I am so grateful for you.
