Whether it’s a 200-year-old tobacco barn from Kentucky, a Ming dynasty Chinese temple, or an actual old floor from a civil war era home or from an old European farmhouse, each of our floors has the character, beauty, and history that can only be created by time. Shaping solid oak, one cut at a time.

It starts with careful measurements and markings before our craftsman uses a chainsaw to create a rough-cut surface along the side of this solid oak beam.

Once the cutting is complete, the sides and edges are sanded by hand, refining the surface while keeping the natural texture and character of the wood.

Each reclaimed oak plank carries its own natural grain, knots, and marks from its previous life. Here, the wood is carefully bonded to an engineered plywood core, creating a strong, stable foundation while preserving the character of the original oak.

This process helps reduce the natural movement of wood as temperatures and humidity change, making it well suited for everyday living.

Before any cutting, shaping, or craftsmanship begins, it starts with the material itself. These reclaimed timbers arrive carrying years of natural weathering, checking, grain, and character from their previous life.

From here, each piece will be sorted and prepared for what comes next, whether that means flooring, box beams, or another custom project.

For now, it’s time to unload.

Before reclaimed oak can move into the next stages of production, there’s still some of its past to uncover.

Old nails and pieces of metal are carefully removed by hand, one at a time, while preserving as much of the original wood as possible.

It’s a simple but important part of working with reclaimed material, protecting the equipment that comes next while keeping the natural marks and character that make each plank different.

These massive solid reclaimed oak beams carry generations of natural character, from deep checking and weathered surfaces to the marks left from their previous life.

A darker finish doesn’t have to hide the wood beneath it.

These wide planks are receiving a custom black stain in our Anaheim finish room. The deep color works with the natural grain and movement of the wood, allowing the patterns to remain visible rather than covering them.

Each board passes through our finishing equipment for a precise, even application before being carefully inspected by our craftsmen.

The result is a rich black finish where the color and natural character of the wood work together, rather than one overpowering the other.

This is where the box beam comes together.

With each reclaimed wood panel already shaped and prepared, our craftsmen focus on the final details of assembly. The edges are carefully brought together to create a seamless look, allowing the finished box beam to carry the appearance and character of a solid reclaimed timber.
