We are thrilled to have Anchorage artist Dom Boyer join us this month. Dom is a prolific painter whose works celebrate Alaska's iconic places including Denali, Turnagain Arm, Hurricane Gulch, the Alaska Railroad and more. She will have prints, hand painted glassware and more.

Come downtown on Sept 4th to meet Dom at Cabin Fever and then work your way through the rest of the G Street Arts District! There is so much amazing local talent here that you'll be blown away.

The beautiful book “Picking Berries” was written by local Juneau author Hannah Lindoff and illustrated by Tsimshian artist David Lang.

"Picking Berries" is a great book for kids to learn more the different types of berries that grow in Southeast Alaska, while also learning the names for berries in Lingít (Tlingit language), Xaad Kíl (Haida language), and Sm'algyax (Tsimshian language). Plus it's just beautiful!

Our in-house Wooly Mammoth brand qiviut yarn is 100% qiviut, hand-dyed in small batches just about a mile from our shop. We have both 2-ply and 3-ply one-ounce skeins. You can find it online or come and see this luscious yarn for yourself.

It's a splurge, for sure, but since it won't shrink and keeps you eight times warmer than sheep wool, you can count on it to last a lifetime and have that qiviut soft warmth that style mavens and hunters alike love.
