Store closed: July 5th through July 12th. Pilgrimage to pay homage to the 4014 in Altoona, PA (Blair County). Reminder: the Big Boy will enter northern Indiana on Friday, June 5th around 9 AM. There will be a stop in Argos, IN. (See earlier post.)

Next week, the Union Pacific's 4014 Big Boy will be traveling across Indiana on June 5th and 6th. From there, it will head to Cleveland (Fostoria, Bellevue, Lorain, Euclid). It is imperative you see this behemoth. This is the first this monster will travel to the eastern side of the country. We will be closed the first week of July to pay homage to it in Altoona, PA.

I'm knitting up a sample in Veluna yarn from .usa; you can see the variegation in the color even in this little swatch. It's a super-soft Merino and a pleasure to knit with.

Great Lakes Fiber Show. Day one.

We will be leaving for the Great Lakes Fiber Show this evening, and will be closed through Tuesday, 5/26. In the meantime, if you're within a reasonable driving distance, come out to the show! It's a great festival with lots of interesting vendors and fiber critters. If you're not, here's a photo of happy Fluffernutter, who produces enough fluff to spin. (I haven't tried it yet.)

Around March 2025, this stray black kitty started hanging around our house. The black little kitty had featured a constant blep. Therefore, we named him Bleppy. After trying to make certain that this kitty was indeed abandoned, he was taken to the vets to be examined, tested, and for the removal of his family jewels. While undergoing the procedure, the vets were able to look at Bleppy's mouth. Nine teeth needed to be removed. Due to space issues, we asked Madison County Humane Society (Anderson, IN) to help find him a new. The removal of teeth seemed to take care of his mouth issues. Today, I learned that Bleppy and one of his friends were adopted in March. He is happy in his new (hopefully) forever home.

Our store is located about 30 miles south of Hawkins, IN. We are about 20 southwest of Muncie. So far, we have not encountered aliens or demogorgons. Stray cats...yes.
