25 Years, I cannot believe it's been that long. It seems like it was yesterday, but I'm grateful that it was Not yesterday. The horror of September 11, 2001 is etched in my brain. I remember the fear that we did not know who or what was going to be attacked next.

I remember the fear, as my husband (President of our Ambulance Service) and the other people in our ambulance service scurried around to pack as much "stuff" into 2 ambulances to head to NYC.

They like many other 1st responders were ready to run into the fray, to save and protect our own. Our "own", you, me, our neighbors, people they did not know, but they were Americans. And our American family was in trouble!

We lived several hours away from NYC and it was thought that our ambulance service would handle the regular ambulance calls, as the services in the city would be needed at ground zero.

Then came the call from the NYS Police to stand down, but remain ready. The reason, there was nothing left, there wasn't anyone to rescue.

2,753 people died that day in NYC, 184 at the Pentagon, and 40 passengers in Shanksville, PA.

Please teach your children, your grandchildren, everyone that wasn't born yet about this day. When you teach them, please remember the 1st responders, the military, AND ALL the people/countries that came to the aid of America.

Today, I wish AMERICA, NATO, and the other countries around the world that came to our aid PEACE!
