My new favorite ring is the "blister pearl"! First let me explain that blister pearls are deformed pearls in the "baroque" style that form inside the shell beginning with a grit. of sand or other irritant. You can see what I mean in the photo on the left. Nacre builds up over the irritant and creates a pearl in the Baroque style. Several pearls are shown in this mollusk shell. These pearls were cut out (along with the shell backing) and made into pendants, bracelets and rings. The ring on the right has an egg yolk color center. Beautiful rings with a story to tell. (Sorry - at this time the shell is not for sale. For display purposes only.)
Open today, Sat. and Sun. 11 am to 5 pm.
