I have a museum curator background that has served me well in this career for 40 + years and counting. I have always believed that one does not simply purchase an item but that we also purchase a slice of American history along with each piece. With this in mind I always try to share with the buyer any background information about your purchase. That is what makes collecting so very fascinating to

me. My husband and I specialize in colonial, country and primitive antiques. We offer furniture in original finish, original paint as well as refinished. I do not sell anything I would not accept into my own home. In fact, some pieces are right out of my home! We shop back east, down south, in the mid-west for early country items. HOURS OF OPERATION:

Our seasonal business opens mid-April (Early March if weather permits) through mid-November culminating in our Annual Christmas Open House Sale! April & May hours are weekends from 10-5.
~June through Labor Day we continue our weekend schedule plus most Wed.- Fridays from noon to 5 p.m - by chance. You can always look for me in the gardens. Stop by sometime and drink in our view of the sparkling waters of Lake Huron! We would love to meet you.

My new favorite ring is the "blister pearl"! First let me explain that blister pearls are deformed pearls in the "baroque" style that form inside the shell beginning with a grit. of sand or other irritant. You can see what I mean in the photo on the left. Nacre builds up over the irritant and creates a pearl in the Baroque style. Several pearls are shown in this mollusk shell. These pearls were cut out (along with the shell backing) and made into pendants, bracelets and rings. The ring on the right has an egg yolk color center. Beautiful rings with a story to tell. SOLD!! Off to a wonderful home! The grain bin sold upon opening the shop this morning! Sorry you missed it!

We found an unusual double grain bin over the weekend and just finished restoring it to its' original appearance. We matched the old paint color (minus the dirty white over-paint) and added fresh clean hinges. This piece dates to about 1890-1920
The outer top is divided in two and each side lifts and remains in the upright position until you close it. The two bins have a sliding top on the inside so you can access one side or the other. Perfect for storing potatoes, onions, apples, pet food or even blankets! Very versatile.

The fresh blue-green paint is an exact match for the original. Measures 41" W x 19.5"D x 35"H. Please click on each photo for more information. Priced to sell.

It was my pleasure to have two of the sweetest ladies stop in to my shop this past week. I had no idea they were taking a video until they sent me a link to their site. I am totally blown away by their generosity and kindness. Made our participation in the Original ANTIQUES and YARD SALE TRAIL event, held Aug. 16-17-18 so enjoyable. Thank you both so very much for stopping in and for your kindness. I appreciate this more than words can convey. I hope you stop in again some time so that I may thank you personally!

Though the air is still warm (some might say "muggy"), it won't be long before the crisp air returns, the pumpkins ripen in the fields and the leaves turn glorious colors and begin to fall. Offered here is a hand-hooked wool rung executed in the traditional manner of all rugs in the late 1700-1920's using 1/4 inch strips of wool hooked onto a burlap base. The sentiment is clear, the colors warm and muted and in perfect condition for your wall or floor.

Ahoy Matey! Looking for a dandy ships wheel for your sailboat? Or perhaps to hang above a fireplace or out on the deck? I have a terrific vintage wheel just for you that is in wonderful condition. I will post dimensions soon. This graced a huge sailboat that plied Lake Michigan waters for many years. Not to be missed!

Looking for a nice wooden butter bowl? I have three terrific bowls, all with a nice lip on the top edge and great patina. None are cracked. Our newest addition measures 11 to 11 1/4 inches wide due to it being a bit "out of round". That is a very good thing, showing appropriate age and use. Our bowls range in price from $28.00 to $75.00.
