One of our favorite stores, if you're ever in Hutch you gotta go check out Toy Depot. The store is such fun and so are those that work there.

There was a call that went out to our community to come downtown and pray at 8 this morning.

Some walked the streets silently touching the buildings, deep in conversation with the almighty.

Others cried out, their prayers echoing off the walls as they called down Heaven over this town, it's people and their needs.

Cars making pass after pass down Summit, drivers focused and passengers stretching their hands out, elderly bodies that could not make the walk but still have the strength to move mountains.

It was profoundly powerful, a beautiful honor to behold.

The world tells us that we must fill every second of every day with something, that we must always be on the move, that as long as the wheels are spinning it's better to be doing something even if we're getting no where.

Prayer isn't passive, in fact it's demanding.

The act of prayer, asks us to slow down, to wait, to listen, to be still and know that God is God. That we belive in the unseen, that the miraculous is possible, that even when we feel empty and broken, that in time we will see the harvest.

That all takes faith and trust me when I tell you, that's not always easy to hold onto, sometimes it feels like your prayers don't get much higher than your own head.

Both fear and faith ask you to believe in something that may never happen, I would encourage you to choose faith. The older I get the more I see that sun will indeed shine again for us all.

To those of you who came down today, thank you for giving of your time to walk these streets and lift up this community, it was an honor to join you and it did the hearts of myself and family a world of good.

Our own Ms. Mel will be one of the instructors, these classes at the Burford Theatre Arts are such a wonderful way to explore different ways to be creative.

It’s almost Fall ya’ll!

Be on the watch for our fall arts classes for children and adults. Pinch pot clay works, painting, culinary arts, and more!

We’ll be introducing new workshops for those with special sensory needs and memory challenges as well!

We can’t wait!

Recently, we had someone step briefly into the store who didn't get much further than the front door.

They told us how beautiful it was, but said they knew they could never afford things like this, didn't want to break anything, thanked us for letting them look inside, and quickly left. All of this happened so fast, we couldn't even get a word in.

This is the absolute last way we ever want anyone to feel in our store.

Quality, beauty, and craftsmanship—these words and the items that they are applied to belong to us all. Elegance isn't exclusive.

We want both buyers and daydreamers alike to feel welcome here.

Be curious about as many things as you like!

We love answering questions. Be it about our antiques or Ms. Mel with her art, sharing the knowledge we have and watching people get excited is why we do this. You're not wasting our time; you are enriching it.

We want everyone who has that desire to explore to feel welcome here. To understand that we have price points for every budget, we're not a museum—you can look and even touch. Don't worry if it's really delicate, we've got it put someplace safe anyway. Trust us, you're good here.

We've spent this week setting up a "treasures showcase", highlighting just a few of the items that were already in-store and priced $20 or less (with lots more still to be discovered around the showroom). Our hope is that this will help everyone feel like they are safe and welcome to slow down, stay awhile, and explore with us.
