Mayhem at Maple Manor

It was a great Halloween! 🎃 This was our last year operating as Mayhem at Maple Manor since we will be moving. We still plan on setting up a Halloween display at our new home, so check in next year for new location updates!

Each year, we raise money for a charitable cause. We choose various charities we hold close to our hearts each Halloween. This year, we picked the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention in memory of a family member, Soren Boyd, and my best friend, Allen Lau. 🎗️With everybody's support, we were able to surpass our goal of $1,000! Thank you to all the generous donors and those who shared our link! 🎉

As for Halloween night - weather was awesome. We had around 100 trick-or-treaters as well as over 200 visitors who viewed our display throughout the day. We were thrilled to see the additional turnout from people who saw our house featured in a segment on WGN Halloween morning as well. 📺

We enjoyed sharing our walk-through haunt with everyone over the last few years. Till next haunting season! 🏚️

This fundraiser is also in honor of my best friend, Allen Lau. Five years ago we lost him to su***de. He was one of the most amazing and influential people in my life. Allen and I met in 2006, and it was the start of a beautiful friendship. We ate out at restaurants, went to clubs, danced, and shared countless memories. We loved Halloween and would celebrate many together. He was the life of the party, always bringing people together. Allen stood up in my wedding as my "man of honor" and was there for me during my struggles with mental health and a su***de attempt. He reminded me of the importance of keeping my body and mind healthy, and we cheered each other on. I miss him so much and think of him with all the cardinals around me at home. 💖

Allen's legacy is a reminder of the power of friendship, love, and support. He taught me that even in our darkest moments, there is hope and light. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues, please reach out for help. You are not alone. Additionally, it's important to recognize the signs of emotional abuse, which can be just as damaging as physical abuse. Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported in their relationships.

😳 Still buzzing about having our haunt featured on WGN on Marcus Leshock's segment about Chicagoland Halloween homes...📺

TWO MORE DAYS LEFT to visit us! 🎃 Our last day fully operating is this Saturday, November 2. We will have the sound effects and fog machines running at dark till 10:30!

Over the past day and through tomorrow, we’ve been battling winds up to 25 mph, and unfortunately, one of our guy wires snapped for our 12-foot prop, causing it to now sway in the wind. We’re working hard to get it fixed as soon as possible to prevent any further issues.

Either way, our haunt is ready for your spooky enjoyment! We can’t wait to see you all soon.

We welcome visitors during our daytime hours! This is perfect for younger guests or those who might be a bit skittish. Come enjoy the spooky fun in a more relaxed setting. Note that our electronics will not be operating during this time. They turn on at dusk.

Thank you to everyone who has visited and chatted with us about our display! We had non-stop visitors throughout the weekend and another great turnout yesterday. Strangely, we have yet to have a visitor tonight. It is a bit windy but the weather is great. As always, your support means the world to us!
