The energy, the costumes, and the spooky vibes made it such a fun surprise!

💙🐟Step into an underwater dream without getting wet! 🐟🐟🐟
Colorful fish floating above, glowing blue light all around, and the feeling of being surrounded by an underwater🐟🐟🐟
These beautiful fish decoys were created by artists Rick Whittier and Connie Whittier🌊🐟Each fish is carved and painted by hand, continuing a traditional form of decoy-making connected to fishing and regional craft traditions.

When I first saw B.O.S.H group art at the Renwick Gallery, my heart broke💔
At first, I saw a quilt made with different pieces tarien rawing words, andrealized that these were not simply pictures. They were pieces of real women's stories stories of pain, fear, abuse, and being trapped.
The red heart in the center caught my attention. Inside it, there is an eye crying behind prison bars. To me, it feels like a heart that wants to be free but has been carrying so much pain.The small painted and handwritten squares around the quilt made me stop and think about how many women suffer in silence. Every little drawing seems to carry a memory or a message.Seeing their names and the years of their sentences made me emotional. I couldn't say this is art it is the pain and voices of many women who wanted to be heard.

I had the chance to visit the Renwick Gallery and see State Fairs Growing American Craft, a fascinating exhibition celebrating American craftsmanship, rural culture, and everyday life.
The artwork beautifully captured the traditions and creativity found throughout American communities. It was such a unique and memorable exhibition to experience in Washington, DC!
