After the hurricane hit Asheville, our community’s strength was on full display, showcasing what’s possible when we support each other. In the wake of the recent election, many of us in the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities feel the weight of uncertainty, fearing plans that will threaten our hard-won rights and try to silence our voices.

But we will not be erased. The progress we’ve achieved over the past 60 years didn’t come easily, but it’s real, lasting, and ours to protect. Think of the cultural shifts, the spaces we’ve claimed, and the communities we’ve built. We are resilient and we are powerful.

The next four years will bring challenges, but they’ll also be defining. Our impact will be seen in how we show up for each other as we continue to push for equality, safety, and happiness.

So please do not isolate yourself in despair. Join your community - together our voices are heard. Together we are seen. Join local LGBTQ+ groups, attend community events, connect with allies, and take time to uplift one another. Our unity is our strength. We define 2025. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

This is a long-term battle. It's a fight for equality. It won't be immediate, and it won't be easy, but we have to do something. Even if you're not in a state currently introducing these bills, they affect us all. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Honestly I should have made this post last week, but I've felt so overwhelmed with the news lately. I'm worried about how these ridiculous bills will affect my family and others in my community. I spent all day today researching "What the hell can we do?" and here is what I've come up with.
