Denise got her derbys prelasted during class on Saturday. She's doing great work!!!! Completing all of her homework. I love that she chose these two textures of black leather. I have to say this last shape is not for beginners but she powered through. Next week she'll be installing the structural leathers, heel counter and toe box. Then on to bottoming, soling and stacking heels.

There are still a few spots remaining for my two-week shoemaking class at the John C. Campbell Folk School starting January 25, 2026. Don't miss this rare offering of a two-week course at the Folk School. I am honored to be given this two-week time slot to teach my beloved Oxford or Derby, beginner shoemaking class.
We will start from scratch. I will teach all of the techniques and go through the entire process of shoemaking (250+ steps) in these two weeks. It's the same course I teach over 10 Saturdays at Deborah's School of Shoemaking.

Must be Deborah's School of Shoemaking is expanding for look at these gifts!!! What you can't see is the pile of vegan leathers and the soling materials. Thank you Stephanie!!!! What a blessing. She's happy to give these supplies to a local woman. I phoned one of my female students (who is setting up shop) is also benefiting by this generosity!!
