We’re popping up at Sugar Creek Brewing Company tomorrow for their Plant Swap & Shop!

Come grab a b**r, swap a plant, shop some local makers, and maybe take your favorite brew home in a slightly different form. 😉

We’ll have our one-of-a-kind bracelets featuring hand-rolled beads made from real hops flowers AND real coffee grounds, paired with stones, woods, and other goodies.

We sold one bracelet today. Just one. And that’s a surprisingly hard sentence to write.

There’s a strange vulnerability in making something with your own hands. You spend money on materials. You spend nights and weekends creating. You pack everything up, build a little space for it in the world, and show up carrying a whole lot of hope along with your boxes.

And sometimes … it doesn’t go the way you hoped.

Today was our first pop-up since bringing Hoptimistic back to life. We had high hopes. We worked hard. We were excited.

And we sold one bracelet.

We’re incredibly grateful for that one person who chose something we made. Truly. 🐝
But we’d be lying if we said the day wasn’t disappointing. It was. There’s a moment when you start packing everything back into boxes and wonder whether you should keep doing this at all.

But you keep going.

Because trying matters. Creating matters. Showing up matters. And one quiet market doesn’t get to decide what happens next.

It also reminded us just how much every purchase from a small maker means. When you shop small or local, you’re not just buying a thing. You’re telling somebody who took a chance on an idea: keep going.

So shop the little table. Talk to the artist. Buy the weird handmade thing you can’t find at Target. Tell somebody you love what they made. Share their post. Follow their page.

Those seemingly little things can mean an awful lot to the person on the other side of the table.

As for us?

We packed it all back up. And we’ll be back at the bead table. 🌿🐝

Sometimes you just need a Take 2. 🌿🐝

It’s been a while since Hoptimistic has been making much noise. Life happened, we moved, we settled into our new home here in Charlotte… and somewhere along the way, the hops and beads got packed away.

But lately, we’ve been feeling the pull to create again.

So here we are. Joe’s back at the table, bracelets are taking shape, and we’re breathing a little life back into Hoptimistic Hops Beads.

Not starting over. Just starting again. 💛

Here’s to comebacks, second acts, and Take 2.

We’re happy to be back.
