Thank you to Mountain Living for featuring Shell’s Chalet in the November/December issue!

Inspired by the spirit of a classic ski chalet, Shell’s Chalet pairs contemporary mountain architecture with interiors full of warmth, texture, and personality. Pale woods, exposed timber beams, and dry stacked sandstone establish an alpine foundation, while bouclé, shearling, leather, and hide bring softness and a sense of comfort. Throughout the home, thoughtful details reveal a playful side, from snowflake lighting in the custom mudroom to plaid upholstered barstools and whimsical fabric deer heads in the après ski bar. This relaxed and sophisticated retreat embraces the charm of chalet living without sacrificing a contemporary sensibility. Check out the latest issue of Mountain Living on Newsstands now.

At Sunshine Mountain, the staircase became one of those moments in the design that quietly ties everything together.

Spanning four levels, floating European White Oak treads carry the warmth of the surrounding floors, while clear glass and a finely detailed wood handrail keep the stair feeling light and connected to the architecture around it. Concrete panel walls ground the composition with a beautiful sense of weight and permanence.

The Canopy Fine Lines chandelier by Ridgely Studio Works moves through the full height of the atrium like a constellation. In daylight, it catches the natural light. At night, it becomes a soft, glowing presence within the glass enclosure.

It is a staircase, of course, but it is also so much more. A study in materiality, craftsmanship, and restraint, and one of our favorite examples of how architecture can create a feeling as much as a function.

One of the spaces our clients consistently ask for is a thoughtfully designed spa and wellness retreat at home.

For Alpha 1, our team created a private wellness experience that goes far beyond a traditional home gym. The fully outfitted gym was carefully designed for acoustics, delivering an immersive sound experience while minimizing noise throughout the home.

From there, a custom spa vestibule leads to a private massage room, steam room and sauna. Carefully selected materials and a cohesive palette connect each space, while custom lighting, air handling and other details were designed around how the spaces would be enjoyed.

Big thanks to Michael McCarthy MichaelMcCarthy and Aspen Magazine | Modern Luxury / Modern Luxury for a beautiful feature of our Sunshine Mountain Project. This was a particularly interesting project architecturally, on one of the steepest lots on Red Mountain...and one centered around wellness. If you haven’t seen the video on our website, it’s worth a view! Pick up the mid-summer issue of Aspen Magazine now! Click the link in our bio for more…

We believe the most memorable moments in a home are often found in the smallest details. This is one common theme you’ll see in our work...clean, clever and thoughtful detailing. Here, leathered marble meets white oak, while a concealed light well washes the surface with a soft glow. The composition is quiet yet powerful, celebrating the natural beauty of each material.

The most magical primary bedroom. Our client, an avid skier and outdoors-lover, asked for a bedroom with a great view. Mission accomplished!

Seamless built-in cabinetry houses their found treasures, soft integrated lighting creates a warm evening glow, two incredibly comfortable chairs (you should feel these!) are the owners’ favorite spot. A sleek walk-in closet sits adjacent the primary bath...which we’ll show you another day. But for now, let’s talk about that view! The Continental Divide and Aspen Mountain...then extending down to Sopris. Pretty incredible.

Memorial Day in the mountains, with one extraordinary outdoor theatre (with motorized screen where movies can be watched during the day or night), outdoor living, kitchen and game room that opens completely to the outdoors. Throw in the infinity edge pool and hot tub and you’ve got the very best in outdoor living! All of this powered by geothermal and solar, earning this private residence, a LEED For Homes certification! One of our favorite clients and favorite homes.

Enjoy the long weekend folks!
