Premium Rugs Retailing Oriental Hand Knotted Rugs, Hand Woven Flat Weaves, Wilton Woven Wool Rugs. These rugs are made to look antique with a soft and mellow look.

Premium Rugs, a family owned business operation that started in Athens in 1997. It started with carrying finely hand knotted wool rugs, hand made in various countries such Turkey, Pakistan, India, and Persia. The standard sizes offered in Hand knotted rugs are from 2x3, 3x5, 4x6, 6x9, 8x10 & 9x12 and to Over Sizes (10x14, 12x15 12x18 etc). These include both one of a kind and program design which

are made in all sizes. Premium Rugs also offers one of a kind unique and decorative, hand knotted rugs made using Natural Dyes and Hand Spun wool verses Chemically dyed wool and Machine Spun wool. In addition it also offers Organics (Sisal, Sea Grass, Reed & Coir) in custom sizes. Over the years it has expanded its offering to include floor covering made in USA from custom Braided Rugs ( wool, cotton, polyester, acrylic & polypropylene) to Broadloom woolen carpets made into custom size area rugs. Premium Rugs also provides hand washing and appraisal of oriental rugs, stair rods, tapestries, rug pads and antique oriental rugs on request. The operating hours are 10-5, Monday to Saturday and is located on Oconee Connector, facing Home Depot. Premium Rugs provides Certificate of Authenticity with each Hand Knotted rug and guarantees merchandise and customer satisfaction.

Traditionally, Gabbeh rugs produced Pre 1980 were made with dense pile and entirely with wool. These designs & quality were crude with small animal motifs and simple geometric adornment of plain colors.

Post 1980’s era, Modern Gabbeh rugs employ Lustrous Hand-Spun wool with combinations of dyes from natural substances, creating an irresistible look and feel. Weavers improvise, and the design elements varies according to the taste of individual weavers.

Premium Rugs however have elevated Gabbey rugs to a higher level by introducing intricate nomadic landscape designs & other natural themes with finer knotting than is traditional.

It’s my long journey sourcing finest hand spun yarn from the mountainous region of Baldistan (Northern region of Pakistan) & then engaging skilled tribal weavers from places like Hunza Valley, Kalash Valley & Swat.

Our refined Gabbeh’s are renascent to the Luri tribes of Persia, and include much saturated vegetal-dyed colors. The entire collection can be viewed at Premium Rugs in standard sizes. Custom-size orders are also accepted, offered at most competitive prices.
