When I’m sourcing art for a client, I’m not simply looking for something that matches the sofa or fills an empty wall. I want to understand who they are, what they love, where they come from, and what they want their home to say about them.⁠

Cairn was inspired by something simple that I’ve always loved in nature, stacked stones. There’s something about them that feels calm, grounded, and quietly purposeful. 🤍⁠

The inspiration also connects to the ancient tradition of stacked stones, or cairns, used to mark a journey and help guide the way, symbolizing guidance, balance, and resilience.⁠
⁠
As I worked on the pattern, I played with soft, pebble-like shapes, layering them in a way that feels natural and effortless, almost like stones you’d come across on a walk, along a trail, or near the water.⁠
⁠
The result is a pattern that feels serene, balanced, and refined, while still bringing texture, movement, and depth to a space.⁠
⁠
For me, Cairn is more than a pattern. It’s a reminder of the beauty found in simplicity, the balance we create along the way, and the journey that shapes us. ✨⁠

For generations, West African artisans have cultivated and processed indigo-bearing plants, including Indigofera and Lonchocarpus cyanescens, to create those unmistakably deep, saturated shades of blue.⁠
⁠
There’s something about indigo that has always drawn me in. It’s rich. It’s moody. It’s mysterious. And its connection to African artistry, tradition, and craftsmanship makes the color even more meaningful to me.⁠
⁠
That history and beauty became part of my inspiration for incorporating indigo blue throughout the INCO + Design Wallpaper Collection. I wanted the color to feel sophisticated and modern while still carrying a sense of depth, culture, and story.⁠
