New week, same rule: work in a room that makes you want to show up.

This office captures the client’s funky but rooted in nature personality. Magnolias on the wall, an antique blue lacquer campaign desk from 1stDibs that means business, gold that catches the morning light, and art with a whole lot of attitude. When your space has a point of view, your work starts to have one too.

In this space we let the wallpaper do all the talking. This Nikki Chu Zulu print is a statement. We painted the ceiling, trim and door in Black Panther by Benjamin Moore it’s one of my absolute favorite black paint colors 🖤

Someone on Threads asked how do you store jeans and I shared my system. Next thing I knew the post had over 10K views, so I thought I’d share here as well.

I use gold shower hooks and hang them by the belt loop. Dark to light, left to right. Typically there isn’t tension on the belt loop but if there is, I fold the jeans and double the loop.

I installed this closet in 2024 and it has been working great. I still love the gold pipe system. When I can see everything at a glance it makes getting dressed so much easier.

Watching J Schatz and walk us through their full process, from the color studies on the worktable to the kiln, was the kind of behind-the-scenes moment you don’t forget. This is Detroit-made design at its finest and I am proud to be in a city that produces work like this. Thanks to for a discussion.
