Holy Cow! That’s right COW! Made some amazing Beef Ribs last night for the family.
Lawdy Lawd! Good Grub
Sweet and Savory get your elbows dirty eatin’ right there!!
And they are stupid easy!
Find some Beef Ribs. Not Pork. And get actual Ribs not Short Ribs! This ain’t no Braised Short Rib Yuppie Recipe. This is simple backyard grilling.
Peel Em! Get that membrane off the back. Use a dry paper to help grip that membrane and pull it off! There are some great videos out there on removing membrane if you need one…GTS! (Google that Sh**)
Season Em’ With your Favorite Steak Seasoning and don’t be afraid to use plenty of Seasoning! At my house we like to use:
Lotta Garlic Salt
Lotta Lawry’s Season Salt (Wish they paid me to say that)
Little Paprika
Little Black Pepper
**My “Little” is probably more than your “Lotta”…don’t be Afraid.
Let the Ribs sit on the counter while you light the Grill! Yes, let them sit at room temp and dry marinade while the grill Pre-heats to LOW!
Load the Ribs, Membrane side down. Leave em’ alone 4-5 mins. The ends of the ribs should have some juices bubbling & the fat on the membrane side might char a little. That Char is the first step on our path to flavor heaven!
Flip em and Slather em’! Brush on your favorite sweet BBQ Sauce. Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ is our choice. (More free Advertising) Let ‘em cook another 4-5 mins and let that sauce caramelize!
Flip Em and Slather em Again! And again! And maybe even another flip. We like em sticky!
Temp them and look for your favorite steak temp! Use a thermometer and check the meat temp. Be sure to get into the center of the meat so you aren’t temping the BBQ Sauce. 145-155 is Medium-Medium Well. Yes, I know I am a Med Rare steak guy but cooking the ribs a little longer has a few benefits. It helps burn off any membrane and connective tissue you may have missed. It also gets sauce more caramelized and gets us deeper into flavor Heaven!
If you can…Let em’ Rest! All meat benefits from a rest after cooking. Wrapping the ribs in foil will help lock in the juices. My family is not very good at waiting.
Roll up your sleeves and grab the roll of paper towels! Plan on getting dirty and enjoying yourself.
