Thought of the Day….” WHY BE SURPRISED AT WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU DID NOT LISTEN”

My mother used to say this to me as a hard headed little boy. She would say when things didn’t go like I thought they would, “ why are you surprised at the outcome son when you didn’t listen to start with”. Well…mother knows best as that is the truth.

Many people are now being surprised by many things when truth is they failed to listen to the truth. People tell you and show you who they are. That’s simply how it is. When we just don’t pay attention or ignore what someone says or does we are just not being in tune with what is being told to us.

For me, I do not like surprises anytime anywhere. I just don’t. I like to be informed and educated about anything that affects me and my life. Being kept in the dark does not work for me. My ex was the worst at communication and not being open and honest. The hiding of things was abysmal and it ultimately broke us apart because there was much that was being hidden.

But most of the time, things are not being hidden at all, they are front and center but we push them aside and make a narrative in our head to suit what we want to believe instead of what actually is occurring. Time will show us, it always does.

Pay attention, listen, learn, speak up if you must and stop ignoring facts and details that are being told and shown to you. Your life will be more in alignment when you do that.

Chris Wallace’s Stately Georgian-Revival Home in Washington, D.C. Hits the Market for $6.4 Million 🖼💬 After announcing his departure from CNN, veteran broadcaster Chris Wallace is parting ways with his iconic Washington, D.C. residence. The property, which was originally built in the late 1920s for local department store magnate Frank R. Jelleff, boasts a rich history. Wallace, the 77-year-old son of CBS News legend Mike Wallace, purchased the property nearly 28 years ago in early 1997 for far less. Since then, the Wallaces have extensively remodeled the residence, preserving its classic architectural charm while updating it for modern living.

Thought of the Day…” THINGS HAVE A WAY OF HANDLING THEMSELVES SOMETIMES IF WE JUST REMAIN CALM, SIT BACK AND STAY QUIET”

We don’t always have to be loud and vocal and express our opinions. While I will never be an advocate for being silent and not using our voice I do know there is a time and place to do that and a time and place to just let things be and observe but be silent.

I believe as this new year starts and there is much change coming there will be many times that I will do just that as well as speak up. Many times things have a way of working out all on their own without our help. You see foolish people do foolish things and their foolishness comes back to bite them. What they plan to do may just not come to fruition because I beleive the universe and the divine have a plan that will not be in alignment with things man just may have planned especially if it is not for the greater good. Maybe I am naive but faith and hope has seen me thru some horrific and dark times in my life and I know it will again.

The lesson of listening and not speaking is not lost on me, even tho you may think I talk a lot! LOL… The way to learn is to listen BEFORE we sound off. You can’t give an informed opinion unless you have listened, researched and learned by listening.

The New Year arrives this week…time to listen, learn and then speak.

My Favorite today….obviously I love this dining room because it has orange walls and I have an orange dining room myself. Traditional furniture and a fireplace make it a stunning place. Classic drapery panels finish the room, YES, I think windows need drapes.

Thought of the Day….” THE PERCEPTION OTHERS HAVE OF YOU MAY NOT REFLECT WHO YOU ARE AT ALL”

Has someone given an opinion about you before and you thought, who are they talking about? You didn’t recognize who they were describing and yet it was you they were talking about. I have found people make quick and unfounded judgements about others off of one statement they made or one action they did without really knowing that person at all.

It happens to me and when you are a public person it goes with the territory. Just today I posted a pic of a sideboard with two large pine cone trees. Just an inspirational share is all it is. I loved it but not everyone does. However a follower felt the need to tell me she didn’t like it but was hesitant to say so because I don’t take it well. It baffles me everytime when someone gives their opinion that differs than mine and I respond. I honestly think it’s okay for followers to comment and not agree but I also know it’s alright for me to respond since it is my page. …so I thought. It puzzles me why someone makes an opinion about someone else when they give an opinion and others don’t agree. It’s just a matter of personal taste and we don’t have to agree. It’s that simple. What’s not good is making a judgment on someone because they respond differently.

The judging of others is something I was taught to not do in my faith yet we are judgmental people, ALL of us. We all judge others even when we don’t have the intent to do so. It’s a never ending effort to try and break that habit. Don’t form opinions about others when you don’t know them fully or their story. People are the way they are due to their life journey. When we know that back story if we are lucky to learn it then things come into perspective. Things are not always as we think they are.

Give folks the benefit of the doubt until they prove to otherwise. For the record, I say it again. Respectful comments and opinions are most welcome here on this page. But if I don’t have the same opinion I will say so and that’s perfectly okay. It’s just how we see things or feel or the passions we have. It’s called give and take and good debate. Good debate is a good thing.

Peace and blessings to you today.

My Favorite Today….you don’t have to have a whole room dedicated as an office in your home. A corner area outfitted like this is perfection. How stylish and functional is this? It’s bright, airy and welcoming. I could work here easily and happily.
