Summer Loftin Antiques & Design

Summer Loftin Antiques & Design Collector and Dealer of European and American Fine Antiques At the age of 23, Summer began traveling to Europe to procure antiques.

Summer Loftin Antiques provides curated antiques to discerning collectors and to home owners seeking heirloom-quality pieces that reflect their lifestyles. “Some traditions are worth holding on to,” notes founder Summer Loftin, who learned about decorative objects as a youth in Mississippi. “Antiques infuse a residence with the character and quality of the ages. Caring for an object means expressi

ng appreciation for the individuals who crafted it and passed it down.”

Summer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Mississippi, an experience that taught her that “collecting is not about owning things. It is about being a steward of tradition and a patron of the arts.” To continue her passion, Summer studied appraising at the University of Georgia. She managed a notable antique gallery on Miami Circle in Atlanta for seven years, making valuable industry connections. In 2010, increasing demand from private clients led Summer to branch out on her own. She is a fixture on Miami Circle in Atlanta and consults clients on a freelance basis.

“I can’t imagine doing anything else,” she notes. “My dream is that a client and I go through the process of curating their collection together. Quality is more important than quantity and beauty is in the details.”

Chicago Street Scene (featuring the Art Institute and Lions of Michigan Ave) paired with Bernhardt Milo Baughman Style Lounge Chairs and a 19th Century Italian Inlaid Commode. This is how rooms gain depth: a little structure, a little romance, and pieces that have already lived full lives.
Proof that antiques don’t sit quietly in the past, they anchor the present. 🤍

A cut above!✂️
Original Art Deco Barber Station Cabinet from the 1930s. This incredible piece of history showcases the finest of the Art Deco era including a streamlined form, geometric patterns, rich wood grain, and reflective surfaces. It is the ultimate collector’s item and statement piece of furniture with many modern uses including modification into a bar or a closet valet.

At it’s crown the electrified cabinet features a single light encased in a frosted and etched globe. The workspace below is framed by mirrored panels and accented by chrome while a solid piece of black marble provides a durable surface.

The case of the antique cabinet is well fitted for its trade and holds six compartments. On the left, a tall and deep cabinet with a removable glass shelf is perfect for tall bottles and is consealed by a glass door designed to match the globe. The center compartment holds a removable tin originally for wet towels (which could now be used as trash disposal or an ice bucket) and has a convenient opening in the cabinet door. To the right, there is a cabinet door marked “sterilizer” and two drawers, one with original lock. Two more doors below open to a larger storage cavity and another shelf.

The overall height to the tip of the lightbulb is 71” tall while the height to the top of the cabinet itself is 64.5” tall. The marble work surface measures 32” wide x 10.5” deep. The height from the marble to the bottom of the light above is 21.5” tall. The overall width is 32” and overall depth is 13”.
