We’re celebrating some major milestones for members of the Planning Interiors team!

Sarah has been part of the PI team for 7 years, bringing 19 years of project management experience, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving to every project she touches. And this year, she added another incredible accomplishment to the list: NCIDQ certified after passing all three exams at once! We couldn’t be more proud of Sarah and all that she brings to our team.

Dana is an Account Lead and Senior Designer at Planning Interiors, bringing a strong combination of design expertise, project management experience, and client leadership to the team. She has helped maintain and support some of our largest corporate clients, including The Home Depot, while continuing to bring thoughtful design solutions to her projects.

Emily launched her professional career at Planning Interiors after graduating from Georgia Southern University, but her PI story started even earlier as an intern with us while she was still in school. Today, she develops space plans, construction drawings, and finish plans and continues to grow as an important part of our design team.

Michael’s attention to detail, thoroughness, creativity, and reliability make him an invaluable part of our team. His ability to keep projects moving and deliver thoughtful work is especially valuable on the fast-paced, large-scale commercial projects we take on.

What makes a commercial space memorable? It’s rarely the square footage; it’s the details.

Thoughtful architectural features can help a property stand out, create a memorable first impression, and make employees and visitors feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door.

For this project, we partnered with Goodwin Architectural Millwork in Marietta to incorporate custom live-edge wood panels in the elevator lobby and handcrafted live-edge wood lighting fixtures in the lounge. These one-of-a-kind elements brought warmth, texture, and character to the space while reinforcing the client’s unique identity.

Whether you’re a landlord attracting tenants, a broker marketing a property, or a business creating a workplace that reflects your brand, custom craftsmanship is an investment that continues to add value long after construction is complete.

At Planning Interiors, we believe the best spaces are designed with purpose and built to leave a lasting impression.

The Hidden Cost of Bad Lighting

Layout. Finishes. Furniture. We obsess over all of it, but the thing shaping your team’s mood and focus most? Often invisible until it goes wrong.

Harsh glare. Dim corners. Flickering fixtures. They quietly drain energy, cause eye strain, and fuel that 3pm slump.

The fix: layered lighting.
✨ General overhead for the whole space
✨ Task lighting for focused work
✨ Accent lighting to highlight design details

Bonus tip: match the temperature to the task. Warm + soft for meeting rooms and breakrooms, cool + clear for workstations.

Good lighting isn’t just aesthetic. It’s a productivity tool.

May & June Anniversaries at Planning Interiors!

Four amazing women, 24 years of combined talent! Let’s celebrate! 👏

Julia | Specializing in multi-story buildings, flex suites, and new builds. As a WELL Accredited Professional, she designs spaces that put occupant health and wellness front and center.

Jessica | Blending technical ex*****on with creative vision to turn ideas into beautifully functional, livable spaces. Obsessed with the details that make a project sing, and also happens to be our unofficial office party planner.

Corina | Tackling tenant build-outs, retail, fitness studios, healthcare facilities, and industrial spaces. She’s also our media content manager and has worked as our in-house photographer, capturing the story behind every project.

Sara | Bringing fresh talent and drive to every project, from detailing construction drawings to pulling finishes that bring it all together no matter what stage the design is in.

Here’s to the people who make great design happen, every single day. Cheers to you four!

Your office shouldn’t need a sign for every door.

Great spaces guide people without them even noticing. Here are 3 subtle design moves that do the heavy lifting:

1. Open sightlines — When guests can see reception the moment they walk in, there’s no guessing.

2. Material shifts — Polished concrete → plush carpet signals “private zone” better than any placard.

3. Strategic lighting — People naturally move toward light. A bright, warm reception wall is its own wayfinding system.

The result? Meetings start on time. Staff aren’t interrupted for directions. Visitors feel instantly at ease.

Intentional layout isn’t just good design, it’s good business.

The Planning Interiors team hit Chi-Town for NeoCon 2026!

NeoCon is one of the biggest events in commercial interior design, bringing together designers, manufacturers, and industry leaders to showcase the latest products, ideas, and trends shaping the future of our spaces.

One thing was crystal clear this year: color is back! From rich emerald greens and sapphire blues to vibrant purples and ruby reds, bright jewel tones were everywhere. These bold, energetic colors added personality, warmth, and a little fun to every showroom we visited.

We’re heading home inspired, energized, and full of fresh ideas to bring to our clients and projects. Until next year, NeoCon!

A special thank you to AOI and Lighting Associates, Inc. ATL for hosting part of our team during the trip. And thank you to Haworth Atlanta Showroom , tarkettatlanta , and CWC | MillerKnoll Certified Dealer for the wonderful hospitality, wine, and dining throughout the week, we truly appreciate it!
