When we got our new windows installed by .llc, I didn't know how to act 😂! I was just so excited, and I knew they would transform our spaces completely. My favorite part is how the light flows in without the heat flowing in with it. The air conditioner is no longer working over time to cool our spaces in this Georgia heat. Although we have moved, I am excited about renting this home out knowing that our tenants will have quality windows. From start to finish, this DIY project was super easy and pretty enjoyable. We had such a great time at the store where we worked with the most amazing associate! She was so kind and helped us get exactly what we needed with such ease. We purchased semi-custom faux wood blinds from the Home Decorator’s collection to finish off our kitchen eat in space and she was able to quickly cut them to size and send us on our way. The process was so seamless and has me looking around for more windows to add blinds to in our home.

I used to struggle with creating spaces for my children in our home... now I'm a beast at it 💪🏾! Not because they are necessarily magazine worthy or extremely aesthetically pleasing but because they make my kids feel loved, heard, and free to be themselves. I had to shift my focus from the way the rooms looked to the way that they feel... and not only how they feel to me but how they feel to the primary occupants of the spaces. So, yes there is a punching bag hanging from the ceiling in one room, abstract paintings and drawings in another, and a mini science lab in the other room. Most importantly, there are three joy filled little boys who by God's grace will grow into strong and secure men, husbands, fathers, producers, etc.

It's almost been a full week of the kids being back in school and while I'm still adjusting in terms of my schedule and how I want to use my time, it hasn't been too bad.

This has all made me remember how important it is that my role as a mother doesn't consume me to the point that I forget who I am as a child of God, a woman, creative, wife, and everything else. I was telling my husband the other day that I realize how much pressure I put on myself to give my boys the childhood that I wish I could also give their sister. I think to a certain extent I blame myself for why she isn't here. And my need to love on, protect, and cover my boys is heightened because of that. Keeping them at home this past year and a half made me feel like I was finally in control but it wasn't what was best for them, or for me... So many of you have reached out to me in DMs or comments about your feelings towards your kids going back to school and we are all feeling some kind of way for one reason or another. For me it has pushed me closer to God and helped to remind me of who is really in control. Spoiler alert: its not me and its not you. And that's good news.

Hubby and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary for the rest of the year! That may actually not work out but for sure for the rest of this month! We love having this space and the ability to truly merge the outdoors with the indoors so beautifully. I planned a romantic midday lunch on our gorgeous new outdoor table from . This table is so beautiful that it really didn’t take much to jazz up our outdoor dining space. And of course, you know I did my thing with the menu! We had such an amazing time, maybe next time we will let the boys join us!
