WAIT! It’s ‘World Bread Day??’ I couldn’t be more excited, because I love me some bread! I’ve been working on my no knead bread that cooks in a Dutch oven, but I just don’t feel like I’ve got the flavor down yet. The good thing is I’ll have a bit more time to keep testing it out in the coming weeks.

Tonight’s dinner was a chicken, zucchini, and mushroom stir fry. I served it with brown rice, and there was no need for an additional side since there was veggies added in already. It was delicious! While I definitely could have done it with no meat, Hubs wasn’t having it. 🤣. What did y’all cook for dinner tonight?

There is something special about cooking a Haitian meal on Sunday for my family. This was a request by my niece, Sierra, and there was zero way that I could tell her no! She even wanted the roasted cauliflower with some peri peri seasoning. Also, are you even Haitian if you don’t put some of the sauce on your rice? 🤣🇭🇹

If you’re not making your wings on a rack in the oven, you’re doing it all wrong! I’m that person who prefers to not fry food in the heat of summer, so this is a perfect alternative. Not to mention that it’s healthier, and tastes so darn good!⁣

My favorite slow cooker meal of all time. Mississippi Pot Roast. I’ve been using the same recipe for years, and it never disappoints. Super flavorful and takes all of 5 minutes to prep, if that. ⁣

For the first night I always pair the meat with mashed potatoes, which I cook myself. No boxed mashies round here. Then to repurpose the meal a couple of nights later, I will typically do a French dip type sandwich. It’s truly the meal that keeps on giving. ⁣

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢 𝐏𝐨𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭⁣
4lb Chuck Roast⁣
1 packet ranch dressing/dip mix⁣
1 packet au jus mix ⁣
1 stick butter⁣
5-10 pepperoncini peppers⁣

Put roast in crock pot. Sprinkle ranch mix and gravy mix on top. Add butter and place the peppers around it on top of the meat. Cook on low 8-10 hours.I actually turn my roast over mid way. I’ve noticed it shreds better for me that way, but it’s totally necessary.

I tested a new recipe tonight! Slow Cooker General Tso Chicken. It was DELISH! I didn’t make mine as spicy as it could have been due to kids, but honeeeeeey it was good anyways. I’m working hard to try recipes that require minimal work, but provide maximum flavor. I paired it with steamed broccoli, because who doesn’t love Chinese food with broccoli as the side? ⁣

Nothing makes me happier than scoops of ice cream on a Friday afternoon. Seriously. Through COVID I'm learning to find the joy in every little thing. While I've always loved to cook and learn about the art of cooking, I'm now taking my craft more seriously. I'm enjoying the flavors of what I create more than ever before. I think you deserve a scoop of ice cream for all of your hard work this week, 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶?⁣

𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢? This dish is great because it shortens the cooking time, which is what I’m all about during these times. ⁣

Yesterday’s consisted of a big pot of Orzo Paella. It was my first time making this dish, and it was a big hit with my family. I definitely have to test it out one more time before sharing the full recipe, but thought I would give you a preview to what’s coming!
