The 2022 will always be one of my favorites. A sophisticated and rich design—featuring an oushak with tones of orange, a sleek, cream alpaca sofa, the most beautiful antiques, a killer Murano shagreen chandelier, and really strong art— made for a fabulous space that was primed for holiday entertaining.
The best thing about Christmas decorations is how we can make a space we love so much more festive for the season. I started with an orangerie theme and did not stop until I had more ribbon than I could measure and bird ornament on every package. Fun fact, these were actually Christmas gifts for that year! I didn’t want to waste all the beautiful paper and bows.
The best part of the decorations was the candle carousels. I had no idea they would be the hit of the entire house (literally!). Inspired by the Weihnachts pyramides of my childhood growing up in Germany, people still talk about these little brass holiday decorations. I have fantastic collection of them now and they’re one of my favorite things to pull out for Christmas!
Sadly, a grinch of a neighbor had this house shut down early, but the silver lining is that I was able to bring my darling Juniper on the last day to have her photographed in the room for my Christmas card!
