The thing I’m most blessed to have this far in life is the ability to be a stay at home dad with my three sons. Their upbringing and character building being the most important thing I can work on, I’ve chosen to take a big step back from making things (not that I don’t still enjoy it). It’s been probably since before last Thanksgiving that I’ve really put time into woodworking or leather craft. This is the first project I’ve worked on: a sturdy pedestal to hold my kindling cracker I got for Christmas. They say if you chop own wood, it’ll warm you twice. If you build something like this it’ll warm you 3-4 times at least. All these things being said, I’ll still probably be working on things in the background, but my family and children take first priority, and that’s ok with me 😎

Put up the tree yesterday, along with some really nice decor to celebrate the reason for the (upcoming) season! This nativity was carved by hand from my good man A true master of his craft, everything I get from him is an instant family heirloom. Thanks again buddy!

Finally finished up that yarn bowl I made for my wife’s friend! Turned out better than I could have hoped, and I even got my logo burned into the bottom! This was a gift in return for some blankets knitted for our boys. May it hold untold numbers of the finest skeins!

Finished up polishing this walnut bowl I turned the other day. It’ll end up being a yarn bowl after a few small modifications 🧶 love that heartwood and sapwood contrast after the glue up! Watch till the end 😎
