Before and After of a beautiful modern home exterior in Chastain Park. She just needed a little freshening up and some warmth...and a 6ft wide custom pivot door...and a slate tile roof. And viola! Second photo is the before.

I had the cutest help making notes about the design of this guest room this morning!
📷 By who is a super talented photographer, a great friend, and the best foster mama! All work meetings should come with dog cuddles, don't you think?

Not all before and afters are so dramatic. Sometimes you're just tweaking little things here and there because what is already there is really great. That's the case here where we selected a new light fixture that better suits the house and overall aesthetic for my client. When we're working on multiple rooms at once, sometimes we just need a dash of design in some of the spaces while the others get a remodel.

A picture that isn't dogs or design going on the main feed! Can you believe it?!
In case you're following my design work or animal shelter advocacy but don't know me personally, you may not know this handsome face that belongs to my wonderful husband, Victor. He is my biggest support and constant consultant when I'm having a creative block or just need a sounding board. He's also a great dog dad and foster dog-dad ❤️❤️❤️
Victor is not an employee of Susie Mae Design, but he certainly puts in the work and is always thinking of ways we can continue to improve to better serve and design for our clients.

One more vanity shot for the before and afters. And tomorrow, we'll do details 😍
We did two tone metals in this bathroom and as you'll see here, the reconfiguring of the space makes so much more sense for the functionality of the bathroom. Swipe for a detail of that reeded vanity that dreams are made of, and then one more swipe for the before.

In today's before and after of this bathroom, it's hard to pick a favorite element, but I'm going to highlight this unbelievably beautiful plaster on the walls and ceiling. In person, it's impossible not to touch the walls. They're textured and velvety, a warm neutral tone leaning ever-so-slightly pink and sumptuous! The tile on the floor has a pattern pressed into it with glossy green glaze for added texture against the matte terracotta body. If you swipe to the before, you'll see there was a nook in the wall before as well, but we wanted to continue the Mediterranean feeling and round the edges and arch the top. Now it feels like it's always been this way.

When we reconfigured the bathroom, we gained a lot of more usable space for a functional bathroom. The cherry on top is the custom vanity I designed and built. It's absolutely beautiful if I do say so myself!

Swipe for the before of this angle.

Those before and afters were fun, weren't they? How about some more of a different project?
For the kitchen pictured here, we just did some light refreshing to a really solid start. We swapped the countertops for something lighter and brighter, new sink and faucet and, of course, this incredible backsplash. Swipe for the before!

For our last before and after highlight for this project: the gorgeous breakfast room. Talk about a glow up! When I first toured this house at our consultation, I knew I wanted to maximize this beautiful window and draw the eye up and out to their lovely wooded backyard. So, we added this slightly glossy wood clad ceiling and the dreamiest of funky cool chandeliers which both do the trick. This killer table and chairs are the very pieces my client had breakfast at growing up in her parents' home. They are the perfect fit in every way! The wood floors replaced tile throughout to tie seamlessly into the rest of the main floor.
Tomorrow, detail shots!
