One of the biggest misconceptions about interior design is that it’s just a series of small decisions.

That couldn’t be further from the truth. In reality, it’s hundreds (sometimes thousands) of decisions—layout, details, materials, scale—all made in relation to one another and built over time.

It can’t be pieced together (or it can, but you won’t get the same result). Every choice impacts the next, and the home only works when everything is considered together, in sequence.

By the time you see the final result, everything has been connected, refined, and brought into alignment. The Morningside project, a ground-up custom home build, is a great example. This home feels (and looks) right because it followed a tried and true design process.

Hello, jewel tones 😍

While this project was just a bedroom, it’s still one of my favorite transformations. The home was already beautifully built, but the bedroom didn’t quite reflect my clients. We started with a dusty pink bed and the softest blue and white rug they already loved, then layered in a deeper palette—rich blues, a pinky-purple moment, and grounding tones like terracotta and brown.

And of course… the dramatic ombré wallpaper. It brought everything together in a way that made the space feel warm, personal, and complete.

It’s not every day a client comes to you with a beautifully built condo that simply needs a new point of view. The bones were great, but the previous look leaned more Southern glam classical—think watery blues, silvers, scrolls, and a lot of very safe choices.
My client had something different in mind. She loves purple, has an incredible (and growing) art collection, and wanted the space to feel more youthful, personal, and full of energy. So, we brightened the palette and layered in color, texture, and pieces that let her art really take center stage.

Such a big transformation from the original, huh? 😍

The Montana fishing shack project is officially HERE 🛶✨

A vacation home for our clients and one-of-a-kind design journey for Violet Marsh Interiors—three cabins tucked into a rugged, remote landscape, layered with warmth, texture, and intention. This compound was designed to feel both grounded and elevated with natural materials, thoughtful details, and the kind of quiet luxury that doesn’t try too hard.

Two years in the making and brought to life from Atlanta, every detail was planned and sourced from afar. Add in the snowy (and very busy) install week, this one was a true labor of love. I’m so excited to finally share it with you.
