๐ก Big News for Homebuyers!
Starting November 16 , 2025, Fannie Mae is removing the hard minimum credit-score threshold of 620 in its automated underwriting system (DU) for conventional loans. ๏ฟผ
That means: even if your credit score is below 620 (or you donโt have a long credit history), you may be eligible for a conventional home loan โ provided your overall financial profile meets the criteria. ๏ฟผ
What this means for you:
โข โ
Your full financial picture (income, debt-to-income ratio, payment history, savings) matters more than just one number.
โข โ
If youโve been told โyour score is too low,โ this could open new doors.
โข โ Itโs not a guarantee of approvalโother factors still count (employment, assets, credit history).
โข ๐ฒ If youโre curious about your options, now is a great time to talk to a lender (and a trusted agent) about what this means for you.
Why I share this:
Because I believe everyone deserves a shot at homeownershipโand changes like this help remove barriers. If youโre ready to explore whether you qualify (or want a friendly check-in on your readiness), Iโm here to help you navigate the process.
