Nobody warns you about this part of reclaimed wood.
The colors vary. The cracks, the splits, the nail holes, the hewing — it all varies. We blend and match as best we can, but some of it just isn’t ours to control. The board has been in a barn for 200 years.
So we built something for people who need consistency: resawn hand-hewn white oak.
We do the hewing ourselves, so it’s even.
The color comes from the inside of the beam, so it matches.
Rustic when you want character. Resawn when you want control.
What would you pick?

Lite as a feather. 2 people instead of 4 for a box beam installation. Less labor less money.

The guys actually really enjoyed working on this job. It’s Resawn Reclaimed White Oak from the inside of 200 year old beams. The guys actually but hewn marks with an axe. Consistency is the this with with the in-house hewing. Still reclaimed 200 year old wood but hewing control and not random.

These resawn hand hewn white oak boards are headed into box beams. Every hewing mark you see was cut by hand — same axe work the original barn builders did 150 years ago. Gio hates it. Noah counted seven blisters on one line. The beams don’t care, and neither do we - it’s the only way the texture comes out real.

This 200-year-old beam has to fit in a New York City elevator. 🪵🏙️

That’s why it’s only 8 feet right now. Once it’s up in the apartment, these get joined into one long run — and nobody will ever know.

If you caught yesterday’s video, this is the same beam. It was weathered gray. A full day of wire brushing and sanding later, and look at those miters. Look at that character running all the way down.

Hand hewn white oak, pulled from an 1800s barn. Axe marks and all. They don’t make wood like this anymore — because the trees that made it don’t exist anymore.

From a barn built before the Civil War… to a Manhattan ceiling. Not a bad second life. 👇 Follow along — we ship these nationwide.

Because that’s the longest thing that fits in a New York City elevator. 🏙️

These hand hewn white oak box beams are headed to an apartment building in NYC — they’ll ride the elevator up in sections, then get assembled into full-length beams inside the unit.

And that weathered gray? That’s not a finish. That’s decades of rain leaking through a hole in an old barn roof. Can’t fake it, can’t rush it. Some customers ask us to sand it away — this client said leave it exactly like that.

150-year-old barn wood, solving a very modern New York problem.

📍 Salvaged from century-old barns. Built in Auburn, GA. Shipped anywhere — even up an elevator.

White oak out of an Ohio barn, roughly 1820s. The tree it came from was likely growing before the Revolution — tight, slow-growth rings you can’t buy new at any price. The surface weathers gray, but underneath the grain is dense and the color runs deep golden brown. The flap wheel lifts the gray without flattening the texture, so the saw marks and nail holes stay put. Nothing added. Just uncovered.

These beams already lived one life before this one. 🌲

Rough cut hemlock box beams, installed on a vaulted ceiling in a Georgia home. Every saw mark and grain line you see is original — no stain tricks, no faux finish. Just real reclaimed wood with a hundred years of character built in.

White ceiling + raw hemlock + that wall of windows = a room that does the decorating for you.

Custom built to size in Auburn, GA and shipped nationwide. Tell us about your project 👇 or send us a DM.

We’ll never know. It happened in the 1800s.

Some beams have a hundred axe marks. Some have a dozen. Whoever hewed them worked at their own pace, with their own arm, 150+ years before we ever pulled the wood out of a barn.

That part we can’t control. And honestly? We wouldn’t want to.

What we can control is the hand work we put into reclaimed white oak ourselves — every mark made in our shop in Auburn, GA, the same way it was done back then. One swing at a time.

Old hands started these beams. Ours finish them.
