Life After Hip Hop Life After Hip Hop is a unique online Home improvement / Lifestyle show based around Hip Hop artist Kool Kim / the UMC's aka NYOIL and his family. Hey family!!

Using Hip Hop music and themes to drive along the "How To's" and other aspects of Home improvement and Life This is NYOIL and I'm doing something unique in the world of Hip Hop. I'm sharing my renovation with the world. We brought a property in Augusta GA on June 28th 2013 with the intent of eventually buying more properties and helping to revitalize the neighborhood. We brought the property in CA

SH $$$ so we dumped what little saving we had into acquiring the property; so the renovation is a check to mouth endeavor. I've set a fund raising goal of $10,000.00 to completely renovate and remodel this home to make it a flagship property in this neighborhood. I want your help because I think my long and short term goals line up with the sort of values that are important to my support base.

1. Showing the world wide community that stepping out and taking on property ownership is possibly
2. By my personal example how we can take properties that others have passed by and turn them into jewels.
3. How one person, with a little bit of help can take on any sort of renovation challenge.
4. To prove that our neighborhoods and communities.. the very ones that we run from and exodus away from, have GREAT VALUE if we just take the time to invest in the community and have some pride in our homes and land.
5. Finally, to help revitalize a borderline community. I believe that with your support and donations along with your hands on help (for those close enough to visit) We can finish this renovation before the Holiday season. At which point we are going to throw the ultimate house warming party. And all my donors are invited!!!

Ok.. here we go.
Family, I didn't realize how nervous I was to actually crank the mic up and sit down and do the podcast. I'm going to keep it real. I did all the labor .. got the studio together, got the components to actually produce a great podcast.. but, for some reason i couldn't sit down in front of that mic and press record.
I mean it aint like I don't jump on live and talk for hours on end right??? So what could possibly stop me from doing my thing now?
I guess I feel like the stakes are higher. Going live.. well if no one watches.. so what!?! However when I step out to do an actual podcast.. and if no one watches.. that means something entirely different.
It's easy to create a reason to be fearful in a thing that you enjoy doing.

Despite that.. I got my butt up and did my intro episode (link below) with my first official episode coming sometime next week. I'll announce an official schedule for Build Sessions as soon as I know how fast the uploads post to the various podcasting services.
However if you listen via my website you'll be able to hear them immediately.

This is new tech for me, and some new processes and work flows that I have to master so be kind as I get the gist of things and make this podcast DOPE.

Ok fam. So I'm back on my Youtube page and I'll be sharing the full videos of the work I've been doing on my Studio space.

Anyhow, in this video I'm laying down the (Laminate) Hardwood flooring in the Shed/Studio. The difference is astonishing.
You'll be blown away at what a difference $120.00 in hardwood flooring can make in a space like this. I love how this came out and honestly the flooring guided the rest of the design decisions in the space.

DIY HEADBOARD!!
A lil side project i did while trying to clean the yard up after the studio build.
It's roughly 76x33" and sheathed with fence wood.
Since it was mostly lying around already the cost was $0.00. But if I had to hazard a guess it would cost about $35 in materials.
Did it in a day and waited till the following day to hang it.

Came out pretty Kool.
