Late 1800’ two arm gas fixture. Shades not original to fixture but compliment it. Fixture is approximately 22” drop by 12” wide. I put low watt Christmas red bulbs which give it an interesting look. Clear candelabra bulbs could be substituted. Just a cute little fixture.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a single picture of a project that I was starting. The project was a 1880’s six arm Bradley and Hubbard cast iron fixture (unsigned). The project called for electrification of the fixture without changing its historical value so that in future it could be changed back to Kerosene. I have done many of these over the years mostly four arms but this was a six arm which created additional space problems. I needed to figure out the best way to run the wires so they are less obvious along the arms also how to hide them in the center stem where they connect to a single wire that runs to the top. The fixture definitely had me scratching my head a few times but in end both the customer and myself were happy with the results. Enjoy!

New project! Customer would like this 1870 cast iron ceiling fixture electrified without changing or modifying the original lamp. This means it can be converted back to kerosene at a future date in time. The six arm lamp was probably made by Bradley and Hubbard.

Very unusual request. Young boy asked his parents for a certain type oil lamp for his birthday. Little polish new wick and fuel and I took it for a test drive. Nice to know some young people are interested in old lamps. This lamp is a “Rayo” made by Bradley and Hubbard around 1900-1920’s. The costs when it was new was around $2.00. Now all we need is a power outage!

A pretty rare lamp. It is approximately 24” tall by 14” wide. The lamp is known as marriage or wedding lamp and was produced in 1870’s made by Ripley lamp company. It came in a variety of colors including clear. The match holder in the center should have a matching glass cover missing in most of the surviving lamps. My solution was to turn a cap out of walnut with the hope of finding a original some time in the future.

A customer of mine had purchased a shade she loved for her new house. She hoped to turn it into either a table lamp, hanging lamp either flush mount or hanging down. Through conversations we eliminated some ideas all but the idea of hanging it. I used old parts from the twenty’s and fabricated the rest. All brass parts were then polished and patina to match then lacquered.

Another Crystal Lighting Fixture from the 1950’s. The lamp was in for cleaning, repining, repaint, repairs. All the glass was removed cleaned and wired to the frame which is very time consuming. The lamp is back to it’s former glory.
