The kitchen might just be the star of the show💫🍽️

When it came to designing my Houston house, I had the absolute pleasure of working with the incredibly talented Noz Nozawa, who played such a huge role in bringing the entire space to life!!

One thing we immediately bonded over? Our mutual love for BlueStar appliances! And naturally, we couldn’t resist a little color. Enter the chartreuse refrigerator and wall oven, which might just be two of my favorite things in the house.

Noz brought so much creativity, personality, and incredible design talent to this project. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to collaborate with, and I’m so excited to finally share what we created together!

An ode to the rejas🩷

Rejas is the Spanish word for bars, often used to describe the decorative burglar bars found on homes.

As Houston neighborhoods continue to change, I wanted to hold on to something that has long been part of their character. Rather than remove the burglar bars, I wanted to celebrate them!!

Designed by Amity Worrel & Co., these rejas are a nod to the neighborhood’s history, with a little of my own personality mixed in.

And why pink? Well, I just love Pepto pink. Plus, pink seems to have been the dominant color of my childhood. So naturally, the rejas had to be pink!

I love the idea of creating something new without forgetting what was there before. Some details are worth keeping, and some are worth reimagining🕊️

This one deserves its own introduction🐦‍🔥✨

Meet our Cartoneria sculpture by the late Antonio Joel Garcia, a student of Pedro Linares, who created commissioned works for Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.

Antonio Joel Garcia went on to become a celebrated Master of Mexican Papier Mâché sculpture, with work in museums across three continents. This piece is signed, professionally restored, and completely one of a kind.

This is why we do what we do!!!🖤

Our Layered Living event was intimate, inspiring, and everything we hoped it would be.

Thank you to Maaribu Home & Design’s Serene Warren for an incredible conversation on the art of mixing vintage with contemporary design, and to Austin Home’s Karen Zabarsky Blashek (Karen Zabarsky Blashek) for moderating the most beautiful evening. And yes, the bites by Maaribu were unreal.

Thank you to every single person who showed up. You made the room!!
