Initially, upon entering this home, you were greeted with a closet door straight ahead, and a bathroom door to your left. No formality, nothing architecturally interesting, and overall an immediate vibe killer! To create a more formal entryway, we framed these vintage windows in on each side, allowing the light to pass through and instantly elevating the space architecturally.

Designing this bunk room was one of those projects that brought us so much fulfillment. All four of these kids, age differences and all, wanted to share a room. There were so many iterations, pivots, and details that went into the layout and functionality of the bunks. I think I reached my peak when our photographer extraordinaire told me while shooting this space that it reminded them of a NYC brownstone, followed by Madison telling me that this image of my living room looks like one designed by Nate Berkus and JEREMIAH BRENT, my design muses. We are so excited to finally share these beautiful photographs of this w**e bar we recently completed in Bulverde, Texas.

We wanted the space to feel like an extension of the Texas Hill Country that surrounds it. Inspired by the mature oak trees and rolling landscape outside, the mural brings the scenery indoors.

Rich millwork, marble, green leather banquettes, patinaed brass accents, layered textures, and a high-gloss ceiling that reflects light create a space that feels warm, timeless, and collected.

Since the building was once a home, we embraced its history by framing old photographs of the house and leaning into the intimacy of the existing 9-foot ceilings instead of fighting them.

The result is a w**e bar that feels welcoming, lived-in, and meant to be lingered in by the fantastic community that surrounds it!

So cliché to say, but also so true: I can’t believe this is the same space! It’s so special to see a space that has been so thoughtfully designed and loved captured so beautifully. The transformation shifted the feeling of our home in every way and it’s become a beautiful backdrop to our lives. This was achieved by layering architectural elements, various textures and wood tones, vintage and antique pieces, multiple layers of lighting and our very favorite pieces acquired from travel (and a few trips to Round Top if I’m being honest).

We’re calling it “the lounge,” and that’s exactly what we hope it becomes for a very deserving client.

To set the lounge vibe in here we arranged furniture for conversation having all seats face each other, multiple layers of soft lighting, a spot next to every chair to set a drink, organic shaped furniture, and a plush rug underfoot that ties it all together.

Our absolute favorite is the lacquered walls. It almost feels like the entire room is wrapped in a mirror, ceiling included, and we’re obsessed. It’s not the easiest finish to get right, but really knew what they were doing!
