Splash splash! No boring bathrooms here- we loved playing with a variety of red and white tiles in this guest bath. Secondary bathrooms can be both budget savers and a place to experiment and have fun. Bold design doesn’t always mean higher cost and I love getting creative with color in these spaces. 🍄

Palette play. One of my favorite practices is to zoom in on works of art to break down the whole into tiny studies of line, pattern, color, and composition. Nothing reveals the brilliance of the artist more than zooming in 500%. Pictured here is “Man at the Fireplace” (“Homme à la cheminée”) painted by Pablo Picasso in 1916 and seen by me at the Picasso Museum in Paris.

Drawing influence from the tile work in ancient bathhouses and aiming to create something fanciful in this area, my clients and I decided on a bespoke tile banner that would encase the entirety of the bathroom. This enabled us to create a design that had a big impact on the space while also managing the budget by utilizing a more economical field tile for the remaining areas. The design is lively, bold, and precise. It showcases a neoclassical strength in its patterns and lines, balanced by a whimsical palette.

The globe lights make me think of an oysters pearl and the beautiful patinated brass fixtures sport deco era embellishments, completing the layered look. Swipe right for some progress pics!

Real or Dollhouse?

A favorite bedroom design from the archives- and YES this is in miniature! Part of a full suite of rooms we created for our 12 room Greco Roman inspired Doll-villa, this neoclassical bedroom interior features bold color, angular patterns and furniture, and a rich textural palette.

More inspiration from this Paris apartment that I keep revisiting in my camera roll. I love when something really sticks with me like that- its been over a year since I toured this apartment and I can’t get it out of my head. designed the apartment for the family of who has continued the legacy of design through his new vision for . This was from my 2025 Paris trip for Déco Off.

I’m honored to receive the award for the best “Scenes of Life” category from the design awards held last night. While I couldn’t be there in person I was thrilled to hear the news in real time. A big thank you to , the judges, and for creating an event and a set of awards that really means something to our community.

This little space is especially personal as it is the nursery I designed for my first baby, Ronan. Inspired by our Irish heritage and the meaning behind his name (little seal), the room features lush green fern wallpaper by and installed by .spencer.art , drapery by using , a vintage deco chair from my childhood reupholstered in orange mohair, and a variety of vintage finds. Much of the art is original by family and friends save for the Guinness poster. The room is meant to feel as if you’re under the ocean looking up to the sky. The bouy I collected during my years in Maine hangs one the corner to amplify the affect along with vintage aquarium decor turned into a table lamp.

I created the reading nook using vintage French textiles and some dead space in the closet, and it now features a bevy of twinkle lights. The magic is real in this little space!

I still love this room and I’m so happy that others feel enchanted by it too. ☘️

A favorite moment from from my trip to Paris last January. It’s been a great practice to go back and look through all the images from that trip to see what still resonates. I’m hoping to continue to build my decorative practice in to one that leaves more room for magic, layering, and pieces that don’t always “fit”.

What I love most about being an interior designer is taking the clients direction, hopes, and dreams for a space and working together to make it real. Emily and Matthew were not afraid of color and wanted something decidedly joyful and very much them. Not only is this small kitchen packed with whimsy and color, it completely maximizes all available space. We knew we wanted a sherbet colored kitchen so when my clients found the purple marble at the slab yard we instantly grabbed it! Now the center piece of this candy land kitchen the swirly lavender and dusty pink marble plays joyfully with the custom designed white oak cabinet hardware and the soft coral cabinets. To keep things from feeling too soft we lacquered these inspired vintage barstools in acid green and upholstered them with with laminated Pierre Frey fabric. The forest green enameled pendant lights help punctuate and the clients own tangerine runner brings the citrusy pop. A favorite moment for is her grandmothers collection of china dancing across the vent hood.

A favorite view of this vibey lounge.🎼

We started with the wall color (Robin’s Nest), then layered in deep chocolate browns and rich tonal blues and greens. I utilized a number of reflective and contemporary materials from mirror and polished nickel to lucite and chrome in hopes that I could blend eras and push this room into true timelessness in every sense of the word. Old and new and everything in between.

Custom upholstery by our friends at Bolt and Hide in Dallas, paired with a mix of vintage and contemporary art, makes the space feel storied and collected. While a curated group of antiques brings a whimsical scale and story to the room.

The portiere is a real favorite moment: green olive velvet trimmed in gold brush fringe and electric blue piping.

So many wonderful partners brought this room to life, all tagged below. ✨

For this whimsical Dallas home we created a hidden coffee bar behind our custom sherbet colored cabinet doors. The bold cobalt blue and white checkerboard tile backsplash gives that unexpected punch, a welcome contrast to the Candy Land palette in the rest of the space (though don’t miss the acid green bar stools on the next image!). Complete with custom designed solid white oak cabinet hardware and our clients heirloom collection of Geisha ware, we packed a lot of function and big style into the relatively small footprint of this kitchen.

Mirrors and metals are indeed back! Thank you for including our Listening Room from this year’s Dallas in The 2025 Show Houses, Wrapped: 11 best design ideas we’ve seen, from Kips Bay to Wow!house.
“Designer Avery Cox leaned an oversized floor mirror against one of the robin’s egg blue walls in her listening lounge at the Kips Bay Dallas edition.”
The mirrored and reflective elements you’ll find inside this small tucked away space hint at the sparkle you may find inside a Tiffany and Co. little blue box, taking influence from the 70’s era of rich materiality paired with a little flash bang. We were thrilled to be a part of this years group of Kips Bay designers and are so grateful to our collaborators and partners on this space.
