Parquet gives you plenty to look at once it’s finished. During installation, the important part is making sure all of those repeated lines continue to agree with one another.

Here, our crew works across fresh adhesive, placing each section against the pattern already established. Small shifts can carry forward as the floor grows, so alignment is checked continuously rather than corrected at the end.

The timelapse makes it move quickly. The actual work is much more deliberate.

Color is only one part of designing a hardwood floor. The right choice depends on what the wood needs to contribute to the room.

A near-black finish creates strong contrast and a more graphic surface. A transparent, natural-toned finish keeps the grain and variation of the wood more prominent. And with custom parquet, the layout itself becomes part of the design, using direction and geometry to create movement across the floor.

There isn’t one “best” treatment. The goal is to understand what the material and the finished space are asking for, then make those choices deliberately.

Open-riser stairs keep more of the structure—and more of each tread—in view. That makes clean fit, consistent spacing, and careful finishing especially important.

For Keystone Bank’s headquarters in Bee Cave, our crew installed the hardwood treads within this steel staircase. The warmth of the wood softens the surrounding steel and cable, while the open construction keeps the staircase visually connected to the space around it.

A custom hardwood floor isn’t one process repeated until the room is finished.

Pattern work needs careful fitting. Sanding changes the surface. Finishing brings out the color and character of the wood. Some steps rely on specialized tools; others come down to a practiced hand.

Long before any furniture is moved in, your floors already have a story. This reel captures a few of those stories -- and why, “handmade,” describes more than the finished object. It describes the work, judgment, and time invested along the way.

Often called, "structure brushing," in Europe, this process gives the face of the wood a smooth, gently undulating texture rather than a perfectly flat one. That subtle relief brings the grain forward and makes more of the wood’s natural character visible.

We develop each board's texture and tone together, in-house, before they leave our shop. That control allows us to preserve the variation in the material while keeping the finished color and texture consistent across the space during install.
