We use cedar whenever possible and other suitable materials when needed. Built local. Built better.

Happy International Dog Day from Steiner Ranch Sawdust.

We'd also like to congratulate Luci on once again being named Employee of the Month.

Some people have questioned the integrity of the selection process, pointing out that Luci is the only employee permitted to vote.

Management has reviewed these concerns and found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Small shop. Big project.

This order is almost done. The lanterns just need their tops and lights installed, then we'll move on to the other part of the order: making four smaller lanterns to go along with these.

We think these have come out pretty good and were thrilled by the challenge to build them
..granted, we will also be grateful to get some of the floor space back in the shop.

A quick thank you to everyone who has supported us.

Every order you trust us with matters. We know you have plenty of places you could spend your money, and we genuinely appreciate that you choose a small local shop to build something for you.

Every time you spread the word, share one of our posts, or tell a friend about us, you help us reach people we never could on our own.

And those reviews you leave? They make a **huge** difference. They give people who haven't worked with us before a reason to take a chance on us.

We're a small shop. There's no marketing department, no advertising team, and definitely no corporate headquarters.

Please don't mention that to Luci. She's under the impression the entire operation owes its success to her.

There's just us, a garage full of sawdust, and all of you helping us keep the saws running.

We like a Texas-sized challenge.

Still our most popular planter box.

Three tiers. Plenty of room for planting your herbs and flowers. Made from cedar to handle the outdoor life.

Today, this one finds a new home. We spent some time with it this morning, reassuring it that leaving the shop is a normal part of growing up.

It seems ready to go. Its siblings are being supportive and hope they will also find good homes.

Spent the day at the scroll saw getting faces ready for our Halloween lanterns, which will be available soon.

A little bit of something for everyone. Bats, Witches, The Creature (Frankenstein was the Doctor), Jack O' Lanterns, and Ghosts.

All cut by hand and made of cedar, so they're built to spend years outside in the elements. (Try saying that about decor from big box retailers.)

Just waiting on our colored solar lights to arrive to help give these a bit of pop when the sun goes down and the ghouls come out.

We made these cedar Jack O' Lanterns last year. They were nice, but we think we can make them better.

Last year's version used multicolored pop lights. They worked well, but they also meant you had to remember to turn them on and off...and eventually change the batteries.

This year, we are considering upgrading them to multicolored solar lighting. Same idea, but they charge during the day and then come on automatically at night.

No having to turn them on and off. Save a small fortune on batteries. And you get to choose what color works best for you.

What do you think? Worth the upgrade?
