I know it has been a while since I've posted, but I wanted to share with everyone that I had to send Eve across the rainbow 🌈 bridge yesterday evening. Her health had been declining since April, but her veterinarian and I were able to come up with a treatment plan to keep her going for a bit longer and keep her comfortable. Spring time was her favorite season, so I'm glad she was able to experience this last one. She still had so much life in her spirit, but her body was failing her. Yesterday evening, she lost the ability to use her back legs, so it was obvious that the most merciful thing to do was to let her go. I made sure her and her sister June were able to share dandelion leaves together one last time. I clipped some of her angora fiber to make a keepsake. The vet technicians at the Poulsbo Emergency Vet clinic made her comfortable and let me hold her through her final moments. I buried her in the garden under the tall trees where her sister could see her. She was the sweetest bunny with the gentlest personality. Rest easy, dear Eve.

Visitors today.

Every predator πŸΊπŸ¦‰πŸ¦…πŸ» comes through my yard near the bunnies' enclosure, but the only creatures June and Eve are absolutely terrified of are the deer🦌 that come snack on the garden bushes. They are currently hiding in their hutch and staying absolutely still.

Yes! I'll have ONE French Angora twisted headband in stock at my last market of the season at the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market! Come by and shop for one of a kind gifts for the holidays!

The last is this Saturday from 10-2. It may be a bit 🌧, but me and other crafters and farmers will be there under our canopies!

After the market, I'll be opening my online Etsy shop for those of you who can't travel to the market to have a chance to purchase my hats and headbands. I, unfortunately, won't be able to do custom orders this season. I'll be sure to make a couple of announcements on SM once I get the shop open!

New hat preview number 1.

I'm trying out some new techniques and styles this year. Instead of spinning up two separate yarns of angora and dyed polwarth/silk, I plied the two wool strands together to make one yarn. This one pictured is un-dyed polwarth/silk blend plyed with my bunnies' angora. I then knitted it on a larger needle, which makes this style a bit lighter than my ombre hats that have two layers of wool yarn knitted together. This style still has all the softness and warmth as my ombre style hats, but without the "heavy-ness" that some people don't prefer. Also, since this style uses less materials, I can sell these hats at a lower price.

Please be sure to come to the Bainbridge Island Farmers Market on Saturday October 26th between 10 and 2, where you will find me selling this and other beautiful winter accessories 😊 🐰 πŸ‡
