H**p can grow from seed to harvest in roughly 120 days, making it one of the fastest-growing fiber crops we have. 🌱

That matters because many of the materials we currently get from trees require forests to grow for years or decades before they can be harvested.

H**p produces large amounts of cellulose-rich fiber that can be used for paper, textiles, packaging and other products.

But the goal isn’t to replace forests with h**p fields.

Forests are living ecosystems. They store carbon, protect soil and water, and provide habitat for countless species. They do far more than simply supply wood.

H**p offers another possibility: use a rapidly renewable crop for some of the materials we currently depend on trees to provide.

The challenge is building the infrastructure to process it economically and sustainably.

We don’t have to choose between producing the materials we need and protecting forests.

Sometimes the better solution is finding another crop to do part of the job.
