There are so many different ways to frame that last little piece of paper that means so much! Verification that you have dreamed big, worked hard (and probably spent a lot of money) to achieve your goals, with high hopes for a bright future!

I like to make each Certificate or Diploma unique by using the school colors, textured or metallic mats, and a frame that suits the recipient or place where it will hang.

Let us help celebrate your achievements and preserve that special document!

The guys bought the contents of a cabinet shop and I confiscated the tool that I never knew I needed!

It's a guillotine type miter trimmer which shaves off 1/64 of an inch to really perfect the join. I tested it on a frame that I had to take apart and reglue, and it cleaned it up so nicely. It's so much better than using my chopsaw (which is not quite square)!

I still love that I get to cut and paste and play with tools every day...

We're finally making some progress with the showroom! The mahogany stairs have a couple of coats of poly, sheet rock and painting are finished. Hopefully rails will be coming soon!

I keep eyeing that blank expanse of wall for more frame corners, but Dave says absolutely not!😆

Would you like to take a peek behind the curtain (or the mat) of framing a document from 1796?

The goal in framing is always to do no harm and in most cases of anything that is not easy to replace, is to make it completely reversible.

In this case, I made a 3 sided sling out of 1 ply rag paper, but as the top of the document was ragged, I was hoping the mat would hold it down. I did end up making a couple of hinges out of mending tissue to hold it in place.

The ribbon was a little tricky as it had to be sewed down on top of the mat and through the back mat. I left the ends free to sway and land naturally.

This customer has a history of bringing me some challenging pieces, and I'm happy to say he was again very satisfies with the result!

I'm not the best at taking pictures while I'm in the middle of things, so here's a Florida blue sky photo to get you through a few more days till it warms up!

The 2027 Framing Conference in Orlando was great as usual! I learned/relearned some tips and tricks, ordered a bunch of new corner samples for your framing pleasure, and met lots of lovely young framers which means the industry is alive and well!

We also wrapped it into a family trip, so I'm tired, yet recharged. Would love to see you and your projects soon😁

I saw that it's National Retro Day and immediately wanted to share these two needlepoints that came through the door recently. I know those of us girls of a certain era (ahem) will instantly be transported back in time!

It's the WCAF picture framing conference time again! I went to their site to pull info to post and found myself right at the beginning of their promo video!! Check it out. Oh, I'll be out of the shop Thursday afternoon 2/26 and will be back in Tuesday 3/3.😁
