The Art of the Walking Stick
Session #4 Recap
Our Tribeswomen spent the day adorning their walking sticks with personal symbols, stones, handwritten words, and meaningful objects…burning, carving, etching, and engraving their stories into the wood. The mastery they’ve developed with these tools is evident in every photograph. What started as uncertainty has become quiet confidence.

The journal prompts and intention ~ setting practice has made a remarkable difference ~ deepening creativity, building courage, and reminding each woman why she showed up.

For most of our Sisters, this has been a series of beautiful firsts: first time working with wood, first time with power tools, first time walking out of somewhere covered in sawdust and proud of every particle.

Our new class starts this Saturday…and our veterans are invited back for tools, community, and Art’s continued guidance.

There is something about turquoise that speaks to my spirit. Its vibrant blues remind me of sky, water, healing, and possibility.

In this collection, turquoise is paired with horn, wood, bone, stone, and coconut shell…natural materials that have their own stories to tell. Together, they create wearable art that is grounded, bold, and beautifully organic.

I am endlessly fascinated by the way nature provides textures, colors, and forms that can be transformed into adornment.

My heartfelt gratitude to Jeff and Aisha Butler for these beautiful images and to the stunning models who brought elegance, confidence, and grace to every photograph.

The Art of the Walking Stick Workshop Series with Master Wood Carver Art Palmer begins this Saturday, June 20, 11-2pm and seats are going fast.

If you’ve been on the fence, let the photos speak for you. Look at those women. Look at those sticks. Look at those faces.

That joy is real. That work is real. And every single one of those beautiful, one-of-a-kind walking sticks was made by a woman who walked in not knowing what she was doing…and walked out with something no one else in the world has.

During Session 3, the Tribeswomen moved beyond learning techniques and began truly claiming their creative power. Torches, chisels, engraving, and etching tools are no longer intimidating—they are becoming instruments of self-expression. Each walking stick is evolving into a reflection of its maker’s spirit, experiences, and imagination.

The confidence around the tables is growing, the laughter is flowing, and the stories hidden within the wood are beginning to emerge.

Only two sessions remain, and we are excited to see where this journey leads next.

The Art of the Walking Stick class 1st Day:
We kicked off “Shape the Wood, Shape the Story!” with laughter, creativity, and pure joy in the garden!
From choosing raw branches to carving, sanding, and beginning to bring their unique visions to life…the Tribeswomen showed up with open hearts and willing hands. Seeing everyone fully immersed, focused, and smiling made this first session unforgettable.
A huge thank you to Master Woodcarver Art Palmer for guiding us with such patience and expertise, and to every beautiful soul who joined us!
