The biggest thing we love about being in business together as a couple is that we didn’t marry each other to spend 10 to 14 hours apart every single day we both have strengths. We both have weaknesses and we play off of those very well.

Kristal is fantastic at coming up with new ideas being artsy, whimsical and creating great products! Doing the research to find the best ingredients! Coming up with ideas like the storybook collection or the DND candles, creating the labels, the marbling.

Matt is good with the numbers, sales, holding a standard in our products. He is also good at bringing me back down to earth to earth when I have to many crazy ideas! lol If it wasn’t for him we would probably have a thousand mediocre products instead of the amazing well researched small amount we have now. Because of him there are now systems and structures in our business instead of chaos. We really couldn’t have gotten as far as we have without him!

At Ugly Duckling Candle Co. we pride ourselves and providing the cleanest products with creative unique scents! And honestly, we couldn’t have done it without each other and without all of your support!!

One of my favorite parts of what we do is the process! Seeing the different stages of candles curing, soothes me. Also love watching the marbling come into its final form!
