A sister store to the new Farwell Museum Shop. 100% of proceeds go to the restoration of Farwell's, a non-profit project begun in 2015. Probably the only place in Maine you can find a moose skull, a locally-handmade chessboard, a weather balloon, a piano stool, an ex-ray of a boa constrictor, a silver necklace, castile soap and fresh cookies all under one roof.

We're finally open for the 2020 season, Fri & Sat 11-5 and Sundays 11-3. 100% of sales go to the Farwell Project, &MeetingPlace which is undergoing huge restoration this summer. We've got lots of beautiful items for sale, most donated to the cause, some just appear on our doorstep. We're part of a very generous community!

For those of you who don't know, Garden Variety is back! After two years of getting the Farwell Mill & Store organized and open, I am (sometimes) tending two shops in Thorndike Village, Thursday-Sat 11-5 and Sundays 11-3. Come by and check things out! Our newest neighbor, Books is now open on the tracks! Thorndike Village is coming back to life. If it's open hours and the door is locked, come next door to the Mill and I'll open up.

This week we're moving back into Garden Variety, just in time for the , and we'll be open until Christmas with newly recycled, upcycled, artistically cycled stuff (right beside the railcycles in Thorndike!) for sale at very reasonable prices. Local artists and our favorite flea-marketeers will be on duty during the Fair, while I staff the Mill at right across the tracks. Hope you'll visit both places; Farwell's will once again serve as the RR Depot, with train to the Fair leaving from our new deck at &MeetingPlace. fmi [email protected]

OK, folks who have been asking all year... we're re-opening from Common Ground Fair weekend until Christmas! It will be a challenge, since I'm also minding the Museum Store at 's, but we'll try to make it work. For the Fair weekend we'll have local artists work, plants from and lots more interesting old and new stuff. Get in touch if you want to help in any way.
