We have a self serve farm stand where we offer homemade small batch low sugar jams, jellies, preserves, along with honey from our hives, fresh eggs from our chickens, birdhouses and more! I truly feel blessed with the knowledge and talents that God has given me. I started "And She Can Cook Too" as a new platform to share more in depth my projects. Good Morning!

I have been up washing laundry and doing a few things around the house. Emptied the dehydrator getting ready to fill it back up with herbs. I have the smoker going with four kinds of peppers, onions and garlic. I just keeping filling the trays! Barry is getting all his stuff together to get ready and check the honeybees. We are trying to get our projects done today because it is suppose to rain. We shall see. Either way are plans are just to relax and watch some tv this afternoon. Y'all know I will be working on some sort of little sewing project or something!

I sold a few more things out of the farm stand last evening so I need to find a few more things to put out!

Today's Hope To Do List...
Make Signs For Inside Farm Stand
Restock Farm Stand
Slice more peppers
Smoke Peppers, Onions, Garlic
Dehydrate Herbs
Make a list of jams and jellies for this week
Work on cutting fabric patterns

Pictures: I found some of the doilies that my mom made. Before anyone jumps on here about me selling this stuff. This is not my personal heirlooms, this is just stuff she made because she didn't really have anything else to do and it kept her busy. She knew that Barry was building the farm stand and she was making stuff to sell up there as well. She was 88 when she passed away. She made these in her 80s. She also liked to read so she saved her eyesight for reading and crocheting was easier than embroidery because she could just count and also her hands weren't steady.

I pulled some of the beige, orange, greens, yellow, blacks (fall, halloween, thanksgiving colors) out and put them in the little basket in the farm stand. They are priced from $3 to around $8 each.

Anyway, I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

I adore doing little projects like this in the evenings while we watch TV. They are little felties that I stitched with my embroidery machine on felt. Now I am cutting them all out. I call them Pocket Pals. Growing up I always had pockets full of stuff. You remember those little clip on koala bears? 😂

Anyway, this will be a free little goody in the farm stand. I will put these in a little bowl or basket out there. One per child that visits the farm stand!

I can’t be the only one?

I LOVE vintage linens. I love setting tables with matching dishes, glassware, linens, etc. Since mom and dad are both gone and we don’t have children, we don’t really entertain or probably would not entertain like that now… mine and my mom’s vintage linens will slowly come out to the farm stand as well. I say slowly because I am limited on space.
There are; Tablecloths, Napkins, Table Runners, Placemats, Doilies, Bread Cover, Aprons, Pillow Cases and more!

I will have to allot me a day or so each week to just price stuff! 😳🤪😂😉

My thinking is what doesn’t sell can stay up there for about three months or the end of its season. Like if I have green glassware that can go fall to Christmas it’s ok to stay. Then I will either decide to pack it back up for the next season or put in storage to come out for Peaches to Beaches (Georgia’s Longest Yard Sale passes right by our house and everything will already be priced).

Anyway, stay tuned!

Good Morning!

We had another great day in the farm stand yesterday! Thank you to everyone that stopped by. A lot of people coming to check out the vintage items I put in there. I think I am really going to enjoy having that out there. I like to have a full look to the stand. I want to offer a variety of items so maybe everyone can find a little something that they can enjoy or give as a gift.

One thing I have learned over the last couple of months is as much as I want to have a full stand with just my homemade culinary items. It will be hard for me to keep everything stocked seven days a week by myself and my stand to look full. We are right here on the highway and we get people traveling stopping by and how annoying would it be to want to visit and it's closed. So between jams, jellies, preserves, sauces, herb blends, salts, sugars, creamed honey (our honey when it is in stock), beeswax candles. Along with adding my little sewing items and then adding the vintage items. I should have a full store all year around! I can work at things at my own pace and make stuff until my heart is content! How cool is that?

Here is my today's... Hope To Do List...
Restock farm stand
Add little shelf for beeswax candles to farm stand
Slice More Peppers
Refill dehydrator
Process herbs
Storage Room - Clean & Organize Shelves
Cutout Pocket Pals

Pictures: There is more info on the captions. Just a reminder we are sold out of our regular Smoot's Farm Honey. We do have creamed honey in stock in the little fridge. All of the seasonings in stock are in the farm stand. I will have more made before this is gone. This week I plan on getting back in the kitchen and restock jams and preserves. Don't forget we now have vintage items in the farm stand as well!

Anyway, I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

A little farm stand up date!

Barry was laughing at me this morning when I told him I was going to move all the plants to the plant stand outside of the farm stand. 😳😂🤪 It will make them easier to water. I always make a mess getting water and dirt everywhere. So the plants are to the left of the farm stand. I cleared everything out, vacuumed, wiped shelves off and then started loading it up with vintage items. I still have a little more room to tuck a few more things in there. I have sold stuff since I started posting pictures so I keep pulling more stuff out!

I also want to mention. That all the seasoning/herb salts are out in the farm stand. I’m dehydrating more and will have to make the mixes but for now every thing I have available is out there.

I also put a good size stash of wrapping paper near the checkout area so you can wrap your purchases.

UPDATE!! 🚨🚨🚨

We still HAVE creamed honey and I will be making more creamed honey. We should have enough creamed honey until we harvest again in the spring of 2027.

HOWEVER, we are SOLD OUT of our regular honey for 2026. It will be next spring (2027) before we harvest honey again.

We only sell honey from our hives here on Smoot’s Farm.

Thank you to everyone that purchased Smoot’s Farm Honey!

Good Morning!

Another awesome day in the farm stand yesterday!! Thank you to everyone that stopped by! I spent most of my day talking to folks. (I know, imagine that.) I do enjoy meeting so many of you!

Barry is done with his three day work week. I’m not sure what he is going to get into. I have heard him making comments about birdhouses. I will probably work some with him on those as well. I probably won’t be making jams until next week if I can make it that long. I sold quite a bit yesterday. Twelve bottles of Candied Jalapeno BBQ sauce in just a few hours. So we shall see. I am going to be smoking some vegetables today. I want to make a Smoked Four Pepper Seasoning with four varieties of peppers - sweet bell, Tabasco, banana, jalapeños, onions and garlic… smoked, dehydrated and ground into a seasoning blend with course kosher salt. It’s going to take some time, but I think it will be so worth it! I am also going to see about pulling more vintage stuff out. I need to look prices up and get some stuff priced ahead so I can keep the shelves full. I’m thinking everything fall themed; browns, greens, amber glass and fall leaves. I’ll do an overall post of the new stuff.

Pictures: I made a batch of these cute little corner bookmarks and put them out in the stand yesterday. These would be a cute little gift for a book club, bible study or just when you read to your kids at night. I also restocked the jar grippers.

Anyway, I’ll keep y’all posted and hope you have a wonderful day!

Just a little FYI... If you haven't watched the video tour of the stand I thought I would just share some pictures and high lights.

I am now adding vintage items into the farm stand. I have mentioned on here before that my mom was an antique dealer for years and I too collected over the years. I need to downsize stuff. Ebay and Etsy with shipping cost is crazy (I don't really want to ship breakables) and I am not interested in doing an antique booth up town (sorry). I don't really want to keep everything and then make a mad dash to set everything up for Peaches to Beaches either... So I am just setting stuff out there. The little butter dish is free! I will be adding cookbooks, linens and such too.

I'll try to post weekly or so as to what I add but it won't be detailed. (Or at least I don't think so).

Note: One of the rooster bowls, the little mirror and the two brass quail have sold earlier today.
