a little look back at the making of apple cider.
i started working on this scent back in june, and this is probably one of my favorite parts of making candles: taking an idea and slowly turning it into something that actually works.
blending essential oils sounds pretty simple, but creating a scent is much more of an experiment than people might realize.
different oils, different ratios, different concentrations. then you have to see how those blends interact with beeswax, how they smell once they’re cured, how they change when they’re burning, and whether the scent actually performs the way you intended it to.
apple cider went through 17 modifications before i landed on the final blend.
and once the scent is right, there’s still the fun part of bringing it to life: making the candles, photographing them, building the product page, and getting everything ready to launch.
that’s why i don’t constantly rotate scents in and out of the collection. i love developing them, and when one finally feels right, i want it to stick around.
a new scent might look like a simple new product on the website, but there’s a whole lot of experimenting behind that little jar.
i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed bringing it to life. 🕯️
