I feel oddly connected to Goldsmith’s and its place in Memphis history. AutoZone recruited me to Memphis in 2020, and the parking garage at headquarters was once used for Goldsmith’s shoppers.

It might sound silly, but I can’t help feeling a connection to it. Without that building and the opportunity that brought me here, my life might look completely different today.

I love thinking about how places can hold so many different stories, decades apart, without us ever realizing how they might become part of our own.

A little piece of Memphis history from 1985.
